I hooked my HP 1350 to my new computer, a Mac Mini. It works, except to scan. It seems that the 1350 is too old to be recognized by the Mac Mini. I believe that there is some way to get it to work. Please help me with clear instructions.

HP 2410 prints & copies fine but won't scan.

Well if you are able to copy from your printer,it suggests that the hardware is perfectly fine. Its just an issue with the software.May be you are using an old software that is not compatible with the new operating system of your computer. If this is not the problem then try uninstalling and then reinstalling the software. And mind that when to uninstall the software do it completely from the registry, program files as well as add/remove programs. If you want any further support, an online technician from techbuddies can help you for free. For this log on to http://tinyurl.com/m7ghqz

Hp laserjet m1319 mfp series

Are you using the software that shipped with the machine? I use the" HP Scan To" program which allows me to scan it to a slew of file types.

The only downer: I can't put the software on more than 1 computer. Apparently, it recognizes that the printer is hooked up to another machine and won't let me install any drivers on other computers (except the print driver).

ADD A DEVICE????

Remove the old and reinstall the new. First go to Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and remove the old software package. HP has a software cleaning utility to *really* remove all the old driver files. i suggest you run through that utility, Then install the new drivers/software for the new device.

Scan Editable Documents to Microsoft Word 2007

Hi - off the top of my head, without going in to check the settings at the moment, I would say to go to your PRINTERS & FAXES folder (Start/control panel/Printers & Faxes), and make sure that the printer you want things to go to is set as your DEFAULT printer.

We have the Home & Student edition as well, and it has different defaults - it took me a couple of tries to print to realize that it was trying to send things to a printer/program that really didn't even exist! When we installed MS Office HSE07, it did a lot of tweaking to our system without permission or our knowledge! Shame on MS! It added a printer that we didn't even have, and changed the default to that new odd printer!

Also, for a scanned file, you can set your computer to automatically recognize scanned files as a certain type. Did you want to do that? I hesitate to say set it to have all scanned items sent directly to the printer, since you might scan things you do not need to print!

I don't have my 1350 hooked up at the moment, or I'd jump in and find the exact settings for you (we also run XP). But, it really sounds like the installation of the MS Office has tweaked your printer default settings.

Check that first, and see if that will solve the problem...
Good luck!
