I'm having trouble transferring. I know its not any of the cable cords used for the computer and tv because it has worked before. Recently it is not connecting to anything. could it be the port itself? If so, how can it be fixed?

Depending on what type of phone you have, there are may different ways to transfer things from phone to computer and from computer to phone.
If you have an Android Phone, my favorite app is AirDroid. It lets you connect to your phone over wifi or over the internet through your web browser. It is free and easy to use.
If you have an iPhone, iTunes is fairly easy to use.
If you have an older phone that has bluetooth, you can get a bluetooth usb device to add bluetooth to your pc and send the pictures that way. This is a little more complicated but once you get it setup, it is fairly quick.
What kind of phone do you use? If it's an android or Nokia Symbian phone, you could transfer pics to your computer at ease with a USB cable. If it's an iPhone, you can do the transfer via iTunes or iTransfer program on your computer. How to Transfer Photos from iPhone to Computer
I think first you want to use the correct data cable for your phone. then you have to install the drivers for your phone in to your computer. Then only you can transfer files between computer and phone. You can download the drivers from the internet.
Sometimes the usb cord is more of a pain than its worth. This phone has a micro sd card holder. If you buy the mirco SD card you can move the pics from the phone to the card, pop the card out put it in a card reader and Voila! your pictures are now on a card you can easily transfer them or take em to a store and print them.
Have you taken new pictures with the device, or are these already possibly transferred to your system/PC? If they are already on your PC, it will not add them again (to save you space). If you chose transfer all, what do you get as a result? Check the log for help.
