How do I get the seal back on the inside drum

I am having great difficulty getting the a replacement seal (Bosch OEM part) to seat on the lip of the inner drum. I have tried putting the retaining spring on and then putting it on. I have also attempted to put it on without the spring. The problem is that it continues to slip off as I try to work it around. I've replaced many bike tires and I'm trying to use the same technique but it just won't stay on. What is the secret to reattaching the seal inside the washer? Is there a tool required? Do I need to remove the front panel (I hope not)?

Thanks...

Do you have to take the front panel off to replace door seal due to mold build-up ? How do you take off the seal ?

I have just struggled to do this job on a WFO2866GB Classixx 1400.
Start by switching off the power and removing the top panel (two screws at the back)
The front panel has to come off to fit the new seal. On my unit there are two moulded sections at the bottom. The right sided moulding flips down to reveal the drain-undo the screw and slide off, then slide off the other section.(Make sure the front section of the seal has been released from its securing clip.)

Two screws are revealed which hold the bottom of the front panel - undo and note the location lugs for re-assembly. The third screw now holding the panel is bottom right of the detergent drawer, when this is removed the panel drops and can lifted free.

Be careful with the attached wires, the panel can be leaned on to the RHS of the machine. The old seal can now be removed and the new one fitted to the rim - like fitting a tyre.

Attaching the spring in the rim is tricky, I put on some gloves to stretch the spring down from the top, half way down each side the tension is a problem so I went in slow steps each side until it pops on at the bottom.

Reverse the steps to refit the front panel and then the front section of the seal.

SOURCE: How do I get the seal back on the inside drum

I did it! Thanks Paul, now I can cancel the repair guy that was scheduled to come in
two weeks.

No, you don't have to remove the front panel

To replace the boot gasket you first have to remove the old one. start by removing the outer ring, I used a needle nose pliers on the eyelet to stretch the spring a bit. This allowed for room so the ring came off of the outer gasket lip. To remove the gasket
off of the drum apply some down ward pressure on the gasket at the bottom. The
gasket will pop off in that spot, now just pull the rest off. I the used my needle nosed
pliers to pinch the clamp that holds the gasket to the water hose. The old boot gasket is now free from the machine.

Now to put the new boot gasket back on. A little tricky, be patient.
As you might have noticed there is a spring ring that will be holding the gasket once it is in place, put that aside for now. I followed Paul's advise, start the gasket at the top, work down one side then the other a little bit at a time, until the bottom is pushed
into place. Then came the spring ring part. That was tricky, I had to ask my 9 year old little girl to help dad. Note, keep the spring ring attached, It kept wanting to unhook itself. Start at the top, like you did with the gasket. I had my helper hold down the portion that was in place, while I worked the spring ring around some more.

Once the boot gasket is attached to the drum, attaching it to the outer ring is a piece of cake.

How do I replace the door seal on my ZWF1421W washing machine

Unplug the machine first! Open the door and look around th edge of the seal. You will see a plastic clip, where the two ends engage (like crocodile teeth), prise it out toward you with a flatbladed screwdriver. Unpeel the seal frm around the door. Hold the top of the seal inside where it is attached to the drum and lift it slightly, then just pull it off. You will see it is held on with a big circular spring. Getting the new seal on is a pain. It must lip onto the plastic outer drum and will take patience to feed it on, not to say sore fingers! Once on, fold it intowards the drum and then you have to stretch the spring back onto the seal...more sore fingers. Maybe someone can hold it while you feed it aound (make sure also you have fitted the seal the right way up!). Finally, attach the outer lip onto the lip of the machine and reattach the outer plastic clip. Good luck!!!!!!!!

How do you replace the door seal on a Bosch Nexxt front load washer?

Tilt the m/c back and remove the clamp securing the seal to the front of the cabinet, double the seal back inside the washer door opening, and then pull the retaining spring off the inside of the door seal which is fitted in a groove at the back of the seal.
Refit the new seal starting at the topmake sure the seal is fittef the right way up, drainage holes to the bottom.
Work the seal on all the way round the drum, and then roll the spring into the groove at the back of the seal and work it round all the way round the seal, you will find it easier if you have someone to help hold the spring in place..
Refit the seal round the front of the cabinet, and refit clamp at front.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.

Replace door gasket

It sounds like you have left the spring on the inside lip of the door opening when you removed the old seal,
You will have to take the seal off again and feel for the spring on the lip of the front of the drum, you will find it easier if you have something to hook it out with,it is fiddley, but you must get the spring out, or the seal will not stay on
Refit seal as before, and double it back inside the drum, then fit the spring in the groove that you can feel on the lip of the door seal. Work the spring all the way rond feeding it into the groove as you go round, you will find it a lot easier if you have someone there to hold the spring as you are are fittingit, it is very fiddley, stick with it!!!.
Plz rate this solution .
Thanks.

How to replace the door bellows seal ?

this is general for all door seals - all are much the same.
disconnect from mains. take lid off
prise off the clamp holding seal to cabinet - usually a wire circle with a spring - and peel seal off cabinet. fold seal back inside drum
seal is held onto lip of tub with what is really a giant hose clip. undo this and the seal will come away from tub.
on new seal, lubricate the slot in the seal that goes onto the lip of drum with washing up fluid.
starting at top, enter the slot in seal on lip of tub. work your way round in both directions pushing slot onto lip. this is the hard part and it may take more than one attempt.
when seal is on all the way round, replace the clamp.
refix seal to cabinet (easy to do) and refit outer clamp.
test for leaks on rinse as water level is higher

The top of the rubber door seal has come away from the wire that holds it in how can I put it back

first remove the wire retainer (usually has a spring attached) then fold the rubber lip of the door seal back over the metal lip on the front of the machine when correclly positioned refit the retainer by starting at the recess where the spring sits and stetching it all around the seal making sure that it is sat in the groove where it fits, it is fairly easy to replacestarting from the spring and following around clockwise making sure that it is seated right as you reach the other end of the spring the spring will stretch allowing you to finish tucking the wire in and the spring should then tuck in to the recessed part of the seal

How to replace rubber door seal

when you open the door you find a this wire clamp round the edge of the door seal, this just comes off with little force, this has to go back on obviously so don't bend it, the door seal just folds back on itself, the clamp on the drum end is often a large thin spring, and that also just pulls off, the seal then also comes away with a little pull, the new seal is fitted with the groove either side of the drum lip, then the spring is put back, take note how all is removed before working on it? the front of the seal is fitted then the wire, close the door to check a tight but easy fit, check for any leaks and correct fitting before leaving machine unattended any time, sound worse that what it actually is, if i have helped rate me,

Bosch washing machine

i am recently retired appliance engineer of 20 years, the rear door seal clamp is generally nowadays a large thin spring that is slightly hidden by the concrete weights at the front of the drum, if thats the case the door seal will just come off with a good firm pull round the drum edge, fitting as a reverse of removal, place the door seal in the groove so it fits like it should, then stretch the spring and fit that into the outer groove round the lip of the door seal at the drum end, once that is done fit the seal on the front panel lip, then replace that clamp, check all is fitted securely before running machine its one of those jobs that hard to explain how to do it, hope i have helped a bit, its easier to work through the front door opening than from above? if i have please rate me thank you
