Question about Canon PowerShot A710 IS Digital Camera
Hello: I have a stupid problem of my own doing. To make a long story short, while cleaning a smudge on the lens of my two-week old A710 IS, I removed the lens cover ring to get at a hard-to-reach area. This caused the automatic lens cover blades to relax and position themselves out of order over the lens. While gently placing them back in position, all four blades of the lens cover came out. In the process of reinserting the blades and their springs, I then lost a 1 cm. long spring (one looped end, one flat end). Assuming I can find the spring, should I reattempt the assembly or should I take it to an expert? Also, is this reassembly as easy I as suppose it to be? Thank you, R. Williams Canon PowerShot A710 IS Digital Camera All of my pictures, when uploaded to the computer are 640 x 480, about 100kb. I can't find any setting on the camera I could use to adjust to standard resolution. I would expect a picture to be about 1mb, like it was with my old canon s60. Shutterfly says this res is too low to use for larger pictures. Can you please help? Willy
I would not try to fix that lens cover issue. I would call Canon and send in for service or upgrade to another camera through their Canon Loyalty program.
You should be able to set the resolution by hitting function set, going to the bottom left corner and choosing another resolution. I'm not sure if this helps, but it is true that if you set resolution lower, you will not get the quality if trying to make large print.
