Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Checkerboard display. I have had my TV for about 3 or four years now, so the warranty is over.  I had it stored for about a year so it really doesn't have too many hours on it.  I left it off for a while about two months or so and when I went to turn it on one day I got the black and white checkerboard pattern.  I turn it off and unplugged it for a while and then tried it again a few days later.  It worked fine.  I turned it off and started to watch tv again the next day and it worked temp. then started having a vertically rolling picture then about 5 minutes later went back to the checkerboard picture and hasn't come back since.  I have been told that it is some kind of video board or something.  I have an A+ cert so I could replace it if neccesary, but I don't even know where it is, what it looks like or how to get to it once I find it.  Any help would be great thank you.

Checkboard pattern is generated internally by the light or optical engine.. when the signal is blocked from the signal board. the optic engine generates these test patterns. rolling piture also indicates a signal board problems.

Utilitech In Wall Timer Part # 0192773. I just installed 3 of these on my home and one of which the blue backlighting in the display stays on constatntly. Any idea how to make the one back light time out...

1) I have tested this product:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

2) Reset timer, and reprogram.
If functionality is not restored, and backlight does not automatically turn off, then timer is defect.
3%+ all consumer timers arrive defect out of package, or last less than warranty period. Some work for a few years, some last many years.

3) This timer, like most timers, has 1 year limited warranty against workmanship defects.
Buy another timer at Lowes and return defect in new package.
Contact internet seller for 30-day exchange policy.
Otherwise I do not know who carries the warranty contract ... which means buying timers at local box store is better warranty value.

Hindsight is wonderful---always suggest a extended warranty since it either gets fixed or exchanged.

Most sets come with a one year parts and labor warranty but not all.

If the set is dead let me know brand and model number (on label on back) and I will try to assist you.

Yellowing spots on 52 inch LCD Mitsubishi display

have the store fix it you need a tech that has the right equipment to fix that. Since you say you replaced the lamp I assume you mean a LCD micro projector not an LCD Flat panel. There is a piece of equipment that a tech should have that can be plugged into the TVs circuit board and it can fix the spots with an electric pulse. I have seen in done on micro projectors in the store that i work by our techs. So my advise is have the store fix it before your warranty runs out.

LG 50" Plasma Start Up Problems

The logical fix would be to activate your 3 year warranty, messing about yourself is unlikely to fix it and very likely to void your warranty. The time for do it yourself repairs is when you have no warranty.

What is the warranty period for monitor HP w1907 purchased at Bureau en Gros in Montreal,Qc.Can. P.S.The salesman told us 3 years...

From the manufacture it comes with a 1 year warranty. It is possible the store may offer a 3 year extended warranty for extra cost. But just from the manufacture it is only 1 year.

LG RT-42P245V-Band of pink

The PDP (plasma) panel has gone bad and need to be replaced. This is not a user serviceable part and cost about 1/3 of buying a new unit plus the cost of labor for a two-man job. I would hope that this unit was purchased less than 1 year as warranty for parts and labor is 1 year. If not I do hope you purchased an extended warranty or paid it with a MasterCard (some MC card provider extends the warranty by another year). Cost of repair for flat screen TVs are high so it really a wise investment to purchase extended warranty. Fixya offers extended warranty on your future electronics purchase. Hope this helps.
