Re: linksy router lem....!!!!

Try the following to reset it to the factory defaults.

Warning! This will reset all the settings in the router! Including any custom setup stuff, like WPA key, etc.

Turn the router on. Press and hold the reset button on it for 30 seconds. The reset button is usually a small recessed button on the back of the unit depending on which model you have.

Now you should be able to connect to it through your browser at Depending on your model, the username is blank and the password is "admin" (without the quotes) OR both username & password are "admin". Note that you will need to connect your computer to the router with a network cable to go through the setup process - you can't do it wirelessly.

How do I change my wireless password

You can do this easily as long as you have access to the Internet.
1.First connect your Ethernet cables. One cable should run from your router to your modem and the second should run from the router to your PC.
2.Access your wireless router's administrator page. The URL to access this page will vary depending on the brand of your router. See your router's user manual for the proper URL to access the administrator's page.
3.Enter your username and password. If you have yet to set your username and password, consult your user manual. Many times, the username and password are "Admin" for the username and "Password" for the password.
4.Open the wireless security section of the administration page.
5.Change and confirm a password to place on your router. Sometimes the software will generate a random mix of letters and numbers. This is the encryption, and you should be sure to write these numbers.

to access the router page for linksys, you need to type on the address bar. username is " admin " password is " password " if it doesnt work, try "admin" for username and "admin" for password. then it would take you to the router page. and you can start configuring.

I want to change my router password

You can open a browser and put on the address bar, that should open the Linksys user interface page, you would be asked for the current username and password to access the settings and get to where you can change the password. If you don't know what the current username and password is, you can hard reset the router by pushing the reset button on the back of the router for 10-15 seconds. After that you can try to access the Linksys user interface, login by leaving the username blank and the password is "admin"

User name of admin and password of admin will not let me in linksys wireless g router wrt54gl

Hi Friend,

Usually for G-series routers there is no username. So when you try to access the router page kindly leave the username blank and type admin as password. if this does not work then swtichon the router and reset the router (push and hold the reset button for 30 seconds), turn off the router for 30 seconds and then switch it on. Now try with admin as password and leave the username blank.

I hope this will resolve the issue.

username is blank and password is admin.

However I have seen some routers not follow that. Those will sometimes have a username of admin with a blank password. Try the first one first.

Have you secured your Linksys from unauthorized access?
The encryption code protects your wireless router from unauthorized access. The wireless card in your computer/laptop needs to be configured with the router's encryption settings before the computer/laptop can access the router.

Since you forgot the security ket for the wireless network you need to access the router setup page using the a computer that is working fine with the router,
On the internet exploreer address bar of the working computer type in , then that should be asking you for a username and password, just leave the username blank and password is admin. If tha admin password didn't work try typing your commonly use password.
If you're already on the setup page of the router, Just go to wireless tab then there's a wireless security sub tab there where you can find the security key that you need...

Hope that helps...........
