Question about Kenmore 40494 / 40495 / 40499 Electric Single Oven
After we had a power outage our oven panel read "PF 5Ab". We have not been able to clear it and use the oven. The stove top works just fine but that is it. Normally after a power outage we just press the "stop/clear" button but none of the buttons are doing anything. Our Model is #665.95713300. Thank you for any help on what we need to do or fix!!!
I finally found my manual to the range, and to change from celsius to fahrenheit press the BROIL button for 5 seconds. A tone will sound, and the temperature should switch to Fahrenheit.
As far as the code PF 5ab--it could be PF Sab which means the power went out during Sabbath mode. Try pressing and holding TIMER OFF for 5 seconds. If that doesn't work, then open the oven door, press STOP/CLEAR, press both the HOUR "up" and "down" arrow pad at the same time and hold for 5 seconds, "Sab OFF" should appear. Press START to accept the change, then close the oven door.

Kenmore dont publish much on their ranges but listen somewhere on that range will be a technial data sheet some you pull the bottom drawer out and look on either side for a white sheet in a holder others are taped some are under the back panel if you have to get under that panel unpluf the range or turn the breaker off that sheet will give you speficis on that code and how to clear it it will also tell you how to change it to farenhiet but you owners should tell you that under that but if you have a cancel button try pushing that or holding stop clear for 5 secs by the way fyi kenmore is built by whirlpool and good stove i wait to hear

PF is usually power failure.
If "PF" appears at any other time, a power failure occurred. To remove "PF"and to reset the clock, press STOP/CLEAR.
Unplug the unit for half an hour or so to see if it will reset.
If not try to get into the diagnostics so you can see if there is a stored
