Your phone company should run some testing in the lines to check what's wrong. If the speed you're paying is very diferent from the actual speed you get you may need to review the contract with them (phone company). Anyway... run this test: http://www.speedtest.net/ Try different locations and then call them.

We have a 3000 sq ft split level house, so range is critical (could we extend range with antennas, access points)?
Stability and reliability are also critical
We use a comcast cable modem
Must support mixed environment - 2 Macs connecting wirelessly, 2 PCs (1 with a wired connection)
We all want to be able to share a printer (which will connect to router with a wired connection)
Network attached storage, media streaming - I'm not worried about these now, looking for basic connectivity. Though would be great if I could grow into this in the future...

My problem is that my wireless network is not detected by my pc using an TEW-624UB Wireless N USB Dongle, It does detect other SSID's in my area. My ssid is not set to hide. And I can connect to my wifi network via my ps3 and also 2 laptops which have built in wifi adapters. I have tried plugging the TEW-624UB usb adapter to the laptop and checking if it displays my wifi ssid. but it is the same. It displays evey other network in my vicinity except my own. I figured it might be a problem with the usb wifi adapter and have since tried it with a Dlink DWA-110, but with the same results both on my computer and laptop it detects other networks accept my own. Mind you my PS3 and the Laptops using their built in wifi adapters is able to connect to my home wifi without any problems. I am using WPA-WPA2 as security and most of the other settings as default. I've tried changin the channel from 1 to 11 without any results. also turing off the wifi security does nothing.
