Question about ViewSonic VA720 17" LCD Flat Panel Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor is on when computer boots up , then turns off

I have a Viewsonic VA 720 monitor 19 inch, when computer boots up can see windows xp screen starting up, then turns off for a couple of seconds, then boots into my windows media center screen, then turns off. I can get the monitor to display by hitting the power light but last only for a few seconds, LED light is green, power supply is green. I have tried it connected to my laptop and same problem. Power options is always on with monitor said never to turn off. I have replaced the VGA cables to my desktop and to my laptop and still have the same problem. I can go see my monitor if i hit the power off and on switch but it stays up for a few seconds only

have you tried if the monitor on another computer?

otherwise it must be bad configuration.. try right clicking on the desktop, click on properties, configuration, and then you will see 2 monitors.. if you go in advanced you can also play there to tell wich one will be the firts monitor..

you could also reinstall the video drivers of your laptop and there will appear an icon on the task bar so you can configure how will the screen be working..

ViewSonic 19" flat screen monitor goes black - intermittently

There could be a problem with your display card settings or the display card itself. If you are using Windows operating system, make sure that you have the monitor driver installed for that specific monitor. This is to ensure that Windows only allows settings for which your particular monitor was designed.
Let me know if I can assist you any further regarding this.

When I boot into Windows Vista Premium nothing on screen

In Safe Mode, your monitor will not be listed as it is using a generic device driver for basic display. Go into your video settings and reset it to the lowest resolution available. Reboot the computer into Vista again and your display should be working. If you check Device Manager now, you should see your monitor listed. If it isn't, you will need to load the Vista drivers for it. You can then modify your display settings to suit your preferences.

When I select sleep or hibernate mode - the monitor stays black...

Hit the keyboard keys. It is better to just turn sleep and hibernate off and just use a screen saver or tun it off.
