Whirlpool dehumidifier model ad25usv leaks, not draining properly

our whirlpool dehumidifier, model ad25usv, was leaking a couple of months back, so we called customer service company and got a new washer kit sent out. now the unit does not seem to be functioning properly... even with hose attached, bucket fills, and therefore does not continuously run... more frustrating is that the problem happens intermittently.. .sometimes runs continuously, other times bucket fills and unit turns off until emptied. any ideas? we called customer service again and they said since it is 2 mos outside of warranty a service call at $75 plus diagnostic and repair costs would be required... unit was only $175~
