Pc entering power save mode

When my daughter turns on her computer all she gets is a statement "PC entering power save mode". She is unable to access any menu or commands to check for errors. She has disconnected and reconnected all cables etc. She turned the system off and on in various sequences and still nothing.

She is not able to access anything. She turns on the computer and the power lights of the tower and monitor come but only the one comment shows on the monitor. She has attempted to enter different Function keys immediately after turning on the computer but still nothing.

have same problem, have replaced most components and tried everything. have taken out cmos battery, unplugged everything and reseated. replace motherboard. just about to give up. someone said i should reboot and hold down f 8 and reset vga settings. have tried different monitors, different video cards. this is a dell 4400 so i have three green lights in back and one amber. green , green, green, amber. have checked loose connections to monitor and computer. the mouse and keyboard don't wake up the system and won't even show a cursor. holding F8 at boot up did nothing. any other suggestions. dell was useless by the way. their solution was to unplug the computer and hold the power key down for three minutes. then supply power and that should do it. or replace the motherboard that we don't have anymore .

I have a dell desk-top and it will shut down with out any notice, saying that is "Entering Power Save", and goes blank. Most times it is pretty hard, and evolves a lot of swears to get it to even turn back on.

I have never had any experience like this before, and feel like somehow, my computer is laughing at me. There is no scheduled task that are forcing it to do so...HELP!

I start PC but get no signal to keyboard, and monitor states" entering power saver". PC is running. Let sit and pull plug and after a period of time it may start up and work correctly. Monitor works ok with another PC. Ordered a new video card to try.

I am not sure this machine has an automatic Scan to PC option. Brother seems to like to avoid this part of most machines. Depending on your Operation System you will still be able to access the scanning system. The operation system would define which method it uses. Win XP you can access the scanner through the Printers and Faxes option on the start menu. Go to printers and faxes and then from there access scanners on the sidebar. Find your machine and open the inbuilt scanner software to scan your photos and save them to your computer. Then e-mail the saved files.

My monitor shuts down after one second.

Dell monitors automatically go into power-save mode after a preset amount of time when the computer is inactive. The Dell monitor will go completely black, instead of showing a screensaver. This doesn't mean that your Dell computermag-glass_10x10.gif has shut down. Instead, this allows your monitor to essentially turn off until it's needed again. You can change how long it is before the Dell monitor goes into power-save mode by changing your display settings.
  1. Step 1 Press any key on your keyboard or move your mouse. Either will turn off power-save mode. Alternately, you can press the power button on your Dell computer tower or laptop.
  2. Step 2 Press any key a second time if the monitor goes from power-save to stand-by mode. Stand-by mode allows the screensaver to appear.
  3. Step 3 Enter your user name and password into the login prompt if your computer requires a login. Press "Enter" to begin using your Dell computer.
  4. Step 4 Change the display settings on your Dell monitor to prevent your monitor from going into power-save mode prematurely. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and choose "Properties." Click the "Screensaver" tab and press "Power." Beside "Turn off Monitor," choose a time amount from the drop-down list and press "Apply."
