Question about Acer TravelMate 4150LCi Notebook

1 Answer

Acer TravelMate 4150LCi

The laptop suddenly start showing a blue screen, " _" sign in the corner & continues beep sound, when switch it on. I showed it in acer service centre & they told me its keyboard fault, they ordered new keyboard & replaced. But no difference. So they took the keyboard back, checked everything & told me its motherboard fault. So I descided to take the HD out for data. But when I tried to connect the HD with my other computer its not working. More interesting is that when I switched on my laptop without HD, it showed a boot window in the screen. No beeps or anything. But keyboard not working. All together what I am assuming is that the fault is for HD & keyboard. After reading all this will u give me an opinion. I dont trust service centre.

Beep sound can causes from Keyboard
boot menu shown can cause from HDD
MB can cause both -> I/O (Input/Output) controller problem

Try to plug other HDD into u're laptop, if detected the problem is from HDD but if it's not it from MB

I have same problem before, it is because my laptop keyboard was stuck. Try to remove your laptop keyboard and turn the laptop without keyboard. If its run normally, you should replace your keyboard with a new one.

Where is the wireless switch

On the front edge of the laptop by the right speaker, there is a switch just left of the speaker. That is the wireless switch, to the left of that switch is another and that is the bluetooth radio switch. Below is a link to the service manual that goes over every aspect of your laptop.
