my zenith z56dc1d will not turn on. I start the tv but the on light flickers than turns red.

sesshomaru69, Is your tv LCD or Plasma? How old iis it? Is it still covered by Warranty? Your symptom sounds like it could be a power supply problem internal to the set. You will need to have a service tech look at it. Probably the Switch-Mode-Power-Supply has sensed a failure with some other circuit or with itself and goes into what is known as SHUTDOWN mode to save itself from becoming a catastrophic failure. Your best shot will be to have someone look at it.
Zenith has a building somewhere in Lincolnshire, Illinois but they are owned by LG (Lucky Goldstar) Korea. Most likely everything in the tv is from the Far East and assembled in Mexico, but that's just a guess!!! I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @ aol.com Bye for now.
