Hi there....I just bought two 4GB SDHC memory cards for my hp iPAQ and they do not recognise it.  I would have thought that they would work.  Should they?

Re: 4GB SDHC not compatible with hp iPAQ

Not neccessarily each one is designed to read certain amount of memory and if it wont read it it wont work. you have to check the specs on yor equiptment before you go purchase.

No screen 2 bips fans run 1GB RAM

WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. - rules Remove added memory If you've recently added or tried to add additional memory to the computer and have started getting these beeps. Remove all new memory you've added to the computer. If the computer works fine after removing the new memory you're encountering either an incompatibility or defective new memory. Open computer and reseat memory Sometimes when the computer is moved or over time a memory stick can become loose causing the computer to be unable to read the memory or get errors as it's reading it. Try fixing this issue by opening the computer removing each of the memory sticks you have in the computer and then placing them back into the computer. Swap memory location If reseating the memory did not resolve the issue try swapping the location of the memory. If you have only one stick of memory in the computer try moving it to another slot and then boot the computer. If you have more than one stick of memory try removing all but one stick of memory and boot the computer. Remove the memory modules from their slots. Take the opportunity to clean the slots on the motherboards and the memory module connectors. Use compressed air to blow dust away and clean contacts with a soft cloth. Do not use a metallic vacuum cleaner if it touches any component it may create a short and cause damage to the motherboard or other components. Do not use solvent that may attract dust and never poke things like cotton buds in to slots. lightly rub an alcohol on a cloth not to hard let the alcohol do the work on the copper gold or silver tabs and r Allow the pins to dry. They will air dry in a matter of minutes If this does not resolve the issue try removing that stick of memory and try one of the other sticks of memory. Try another computers memory If you have access to another computer that uses the same memory, try using its known good memory in your computer. If another computers memory works you know that you have bad memory. If another computers memory does not work and it is compatible with your computer unfortunately your motherboard or the slots on the motherboard are defective causing it to be unable to properly read the memory, which means the motherboard will have to be replaced. Replace memory If it is determined the memory in the computer is bad we suggest that you replace it if you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules. First you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system You should always ask for a guarantee on the compatibility before making any purchase and try to buy for working pairs if possible b> Hope this helps.

Thomson TG585v7 keeps rebooting periodically. This happens approx. three to four times a day

Thomson Router rebooting - I am in N.Z. and have the exact same Thomson Wireless Router, TG585v7, Software version My previous D-Link Wireless router never gave me any trouble, as soon as I installed the Thomson, I kept losing connectivity. I could watch it rebooting in front of me, all lights off, restart and reconnect. I complained to my ISP who sent me another - exactly same problem. We were away for a week and it never rebooted once. I started wondering about Wifi devices , we use an HP Ipaq (it won't connect at all to the Thomson but will to other Acess Points) - have turned Ipaq off for days on end to eliminate but Router still rebooting several times a day. My wife has an Apple IPod and it seems "perhaps" it's when that is charging that we have problems. We are working through that isolation now, I'd be interested to know if you have other wireless enabled equipment - could even be a neighbour's unit interfering.

USR5610c Modem On Hold feature not Vista compatable/does not work

Hi there.
Basically what you have been told is correct, the reason is that the modem card is old hardware and the Vista operating system does not support it in the driver cab or even if you do a Microsoft update.
Your not probably going to able to get a driver for Vista so there is no point chasing them you would have to go and purchase a Vista compatible PCI modem card for you to get your internet connectivity.
If you was using XP there would be a chance you could get a driver for the existing card but the way things stand you have no choice but to purchase a Vista compatible card.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Need download cd for modem/soundcard

Hi, You can try & proceed to HP website ( and go to the Software & Driver Downloads (left side near the bottom). You have to determine the specif model/version of your HP computer which might look something like "HP Pavilion 4550Z" From initial indications you would be looking for an Internal Modem/Sound Card that was originally set for Windows 98SE. Chances are that it is a Conexant or Rockwell SoftK56 Data,Fax PCI Modem, with Master Riptide PCI Audio Device. Post back should you need additional information. State your PC's model. Good luck and kind regards.
