Canon 4200F is there anyway to change the default

Canon 4200F I am trying to print directly from the scanner to my home network printer. Is there anyway to change the default printer to my home printer and change it from Quick books PDF. I change it and apply the change yet everytime I go to print is is back to quickbooks. Running windows pro XP. The settings button is useless just lets me move the buttons on the front to do what I want but they won't do what I want. Needless to say printing directly from the scanner to the printer is NOT the quick task I have needed it to be!
