i have a toshiba satellite x205-s9800. last night i was online and it just shut down. period. no warning...nothing. it felt pretty warm so i just let it sit and cool off. it still will not start this morning. the indicator lights showing it is plugged in are not lit, either.

- i was on the road and staying at a hotel at the time but i did think to check the power...it was okay. am home again and still having the same issue. have also checked the charger (okay) and tried to run the laptop without the battery and plugged in (no go).
blew a fuse? where would i check that?

- the power pack is cold, even when plugged in. the outlet was working at the hotel where it happened, as is the one i have tried since we got home. the battery is installed but won't boot the laptop either. i don't even have the led lights lit that indicate battery and/or ac. if you need any other information, i'll be more than happy to give it to you.
Does the power pack (between computer and ac outlet) feel warm? Is the AC outlet it is plugged in to working? Do you have a battery installed? I assume if you do it won't run the computer either?
Check your wall connection for power, or your strip connector, if you are plugged into one...It may have to be reset. Check your power cord or power cord adapter. If none of them are at fault, you probably blew a fuse.

- Its gotta be a power issue, I believe you are saying that your Laptop will not turn on at all ! To check the fuse you have to take apart your computer, I would still check your battery voltage and the power adapter. No, You will not lose your Hard Drive contents, if you replace the motherboard. Try starting your Computer with a Start up Disc, if it starts go into Safe mode investigate. Hope this Helps! I still bet it the Power adapter !
amm your system must have been going through alot of stress lately. there are two things.the power pack is faulty or the mother board is bad. so you just have to confirm which is wrong.
