How To Make Region Free:

press Setup
select the Preference Tab
Press 1 3 8 9 3 1
Press up/down key to select "0"
and press Setup to exit.

If you can't get into Preferences Tab, you may need to press the stop button twice first, then press setup.

I followed, to the letter, the method widely posted on the internet. Now the player won't play ANY dvd's, regardless of region. If your unit was manufactured since about May of 2009, the method everyone posts will brick your unit for DVDs. USB movies will still work.

Instead, get the Philips DVP 3140... it's made specifically to be region free, with NO modification!
