Windows Installation Disc..Toshiba Laptop

I have a toshiba laptop which was abit messed up so i tried to recover it back to the original factory state. Half way through the recovery the laptop froze so i had no choice but to turn it off. When i turned it back on a screen came up saying i needed to install my windows installation disc because it said "windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might not be the cause." To fix it i have to insert the disc, choose language settings and click repair computer. When i looked for the disc i cant seem to find it. Any ideas on how i can fix this without the disc or how do i get a new disc? Thanks.

Unfortunately when this happens it means your computer is suffering from a catastrophic system failure. In this case brought on by the hard reboot.
you can reorder a set of disk from www.toshiba.com. sorry it's not better news.

Toshiba no bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key

try booting from a Windows installation disc. Choose the repair installation option. If this does not work, you may have to erase (format) your whole drive and start over again by reinstalling Windows from scratch.

Before erasing the drive, you might want to pull it out, put as a second drive in another working computer or inside a USB hard drive case and download all of your information from it. Otherwise you may have a mess on your hands with lost data/documents/photos.

Problems restoring my Toshiba L305 to factory settings

I'd doubt that the hard drive is bad. Most times the Factory Recover does not work especially from the discs.

Why not try reinstalling Windows, because you've probably wiped out your operating system by trying the recoveries. Look on the bottom of your laptop or inside the battery case for the Certificate of Authentication (COA) Sticker. It will tell you what verion of Windows you have and it will have your registered Product Key Code (series of 5 letters and numbers). If you don't have an operating system disk, then borrow one from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker. It has to be the same operating system that is on your COA sticker or it will not work and you won't be able to activate windows. If your COA says Windows Vista Home Premium, you can't use a Windows Vista Home Basic operating system disc.

Sometimes activation can be tricky so when you come to the part where it asks for the Product Key give it the key from the COA Sticker on the bottom of your laptop. Sometimes it will not want yours but want the key that came with the software you borrowed so if it is not on the packaging ask the person your borrowed from to give you the Product Key from their COA Sticker. Don't worry, theirs is theirs and yours is yours.

Where do I find the recovery partition on my toshiba l645d laptop with windows 7?

The recovery partition is basically the same as the Toshiba restore CD if your model has one. The restore partition is located on a separate partition on the hard disk (if it has one).

1. Press and hold the 0 (zero) key and at the same time, tap the power buttononce to switch on
your notebook.
2. When the machine Starts beeping; release the 0 key.
3. When prompted by the warning screen; select Yes to continue with the systemrecovery.
4. Select Recovery of Factory Default Software; click Next.
5. Select Recover to out-of-box state.6. Click Next again.
7. Click Next to Start recovery.
8. Restart the Toshiba laptop when there restoration process finishes running.Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to set up the laptop's date, timeand language settings.

I wanted to restore my netbook to factory settings...

The Toshiba notebook laptop comes with the Windows XP operating system pre-installed. If viruses and other malicious programs have infected your laptop's hard drive, they can slow down your laptop and prevent you from accessing the Internet. You can fix these problems by using the recovery disc included with your operating system to restore the laptop back to its original factory settings.

1. Place the recovery disc, label-side up, into your Toshiba disc drive.

2. Let the program load completely, which takes just a few seconds.

3. Press the "Escape" keep to move forward to the installation process.

4.Change the drive's name to "C:/," a common name for drives in laptops.

5.Choose a name for your laptop, and click "Next" to finish the re-installation of Windows XP.

I hope you find it very helpful.

Need to hard restore Toshiba Satellite L305-S5945 to its orginal state. How do I do that? The Satellite L305-S5945 is the correct product info not the L305-S5941. It is a laptop.

For the very original state you'll need the Toshiba discs. Insert the one that's labeled as needed to restore your system and boot to it. At one point you'll be promtped to delete the existing partition (this wipes your data) and then you can reinstall Windows on the empty partition. If yo udo not have the Toshiba discs, you can still load Windows using a Windows installation disc, but you will likely need to find the missing drivers for your laptop, so don't go this route unless you are comfortable with it.

Its not going past windows boot manager do i need a windows installation disc

If you do not have significant data on the hard drive, you should insert the Toshiba recovery CD or DVD, and recover the system to its original state. After tuning the computer on, and at the Toshiba flash window, press F2 (I think) to enter the bios. You want to change to boot order so that the optical drive is first. Re-boot your laptop, sit back and relax while it does its magic.
