Problem for Air Conditioners
Generic problem for all Air Conditioners
Intertherm furnace..not working right
not sure what is wrong with my furnace....but when it is on but not running...it emets (sp?) heat and smells of burnt dust. Has been working properly until yesterday (12-11-07). Can someone please tell me what might be wrong with it....

- When the thermostat is turned to "HEAT" the compressor kicks on and a slight burning smell emits from the air return but the blower never turns on. When the thermostat is turned to "OFF" for several minutes following and then back to "HEAT" the blower occasionally turns on for a couple minutes before again shutting off leaving the compressor running and releasing the burnt dust smell.- GuestBest Solution

if i understand your problem description correctly when power is on but the furnace is not running you can smell burning dust and feel heat? first thing i can think of is possible a heater relay has gone bad keeping the heater on all the time but no fan...
