Re: phillips pss110/05

Oh God I had the same problem - pointless trying to work out what the cause is, easier just to re-install all the software, connect the device and restore it using device manager. Still couldnt get it to work but having read jpwadd's note about selecting pss110 instead of flash from the settings box was the key - thanks! interesting really as I never had to do this before - the computer I used when I first bought this used win2000 and I think the musicmatch portable device defaulted to pss110 whereas newer operating systems show the flash - cant think of any other explanation. once selected I dragged and dropped tracks from the playlist instead of using the 'send to' command. works fine now after hours of frustration!

Re: phillips pss110/05

Hello, i found the original cd that came with the mp3 player, uninstalled musicmatch and pss device manager, disconnected from the internet and reinstalled everything on the disc. i then reformatted the device and had to go into settings on the portable device option in musicmatch and selected pss 110 rather than flash. the device works now although i had to select the 'add' from portable device rather than sending to it from musicmatch jukebox.
hopen it works for you. you may have to keep selecting the pss option as it seemed to re-set itself as a flash device a few times. john

How do i upload songs

How to Upload Songs to an iPod: (You can also find the instructions here.)

1)Download the latest version of iTunes. It is free and you can obtain it from the Apple website. It could have come with your iPod on an installation CD. Makes sure your computer meets the requirements. You can find older versions on the web, but they have limitations.
2)Scan your computer for songs to add to the library.
3)Connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod. The iPod screen should say "Do not disconnect".
4)Open iTunes. Your iPod should appear under Devices in the bar to the left.
5)Follow the instructions for naming your iPod and changing the initial settings if the iPod has not been plugged into a computer before.
6)Buy music from the iTunes music store or import songs off a CD using iTunes.
7)Decide whether you want to sync your iPod with your iTunes library or manually put songs on your iPod.
(Syncing your iPod will automatically add all of the songs in your library to your iPod. It will also delete any songs from your iPod that are not in your library. Click on your iPod icon and select Sync in the lower right corner.)
8)If you do not want all the songs in your library on your iPod, make a playlist of all the songs you do want, or decide which playlists you want to include on your iPod.
9)Click on your iPod icon.
10)On the top bar, click on the button which says "Music".
11)Make sure the box that says "Sync Music" is checked, then check the box for whether you want your iPod to sync with the entire library or selected playlists. If you click selected playlists, select the playlists you want in the playlists category. For newer iPods you can check which artists are included on your iPod to automatically import all the songs from each selected artist onto your iPod.
12)Properly disconnect your iPod using the eject button (see Warnings).
13)Listen to your new songs!

Set up the iPod on the computer you plan to use it on. An iPod set up with a Macintosh will need to have all the songs deleted in order to use it on a Windows operating system. This only needs to be done once if you switch computers, but just to make less hassle, try to use the iPod on only one computer.

Make sure you disconnect the iPod properly to avoid problems or loss of files on your iPod. Click the eject button next to the iPod icon in iTunes, or in the lower, right-hand corner. If you quit iTunes, drag the iPod icon on your desktop to the trash to eject (Mac). Right click on the iPod icon on your desktop on a Windows PC.

Things You'll Need:
- USB connector cable
- iTunes
- iPod
- Computer
- Music files or CD's

Hope this information helps!

My phillips GoGear SA6185/02 just freezes when i plug usb in

disconnect it. Turn it off. Then while holding the menu button plus it back in. This will make the screen go white about the splash screens. Your computer will see the hard drive and the device will not sync. Remove all the media and the data files. Plug back in and I was good to go.

Computer doesn't recognize unit when connected

I am guessing there is a problem with the driver for the audio player. I have a Coby Audio Player MP-C827, and one day my brother decided to just remove it from the computer without correctly stopping it. Ever since, whenever I plug in it into my PC, it just does not open...nothing happens. And I don't have the cd to re-install the driver files. With respect to all of the above, a driver file which is needed by the mp3 is either damaged or corrupt. Contact me at

Wont connect

Try using Windows Media Player (version 11 should be fine) to sync music files to it. Using drag-and-drop to the device folder only sometimes works (and usually doesn't).
