where in fact no other devices were installed nor modem is in use, driver were properly insatalled but once you hit the modem icon and dialled, a dialog box will appear saying above problem
right click on my computer and go to properties then hardware in that click on device manger and choose the modem option just expand the list it will show the modem which you installed just right click on it and got to properties and choose the diagnostics option and there is one tab down query modem it will communicate with modem if you find the character or response that means modem is correctly installed or if it is not that means you need to re install modem driver.
