The freezing is the start of the red lights of doom - normally.

The reason it freezes is because the soldering is starting to become loose.

You should send it in to Microsoft which will take a few weeks or repair it yourself with an Xbox 360 Repair guide

sell it and get a playstation 3. the xbox has a Much higher failure rate world wide than the sony.
