Reset all-in-one factory defaults

On the printer operating panel, press the Options button twelve (12) times until Set Defaults appears on the LCD.
When you see the Use Factory option on the display, press Select. The printer should now be reset to the default settings.

Be aware that this will not clear up any issues related to problematic ink cartridges ink levels...

You can fix that issue by doing the following: just put the tape into the terminal and run cleaning process the printer will tell you that your cartridge is incorrect, just ignore it and removed the tape and try to print again and it will read the cartridge as new one.

If that does not work then try ordering a new cartridge

Hi, What you need to do is to reset the NVRAM. That will also delete your network information and passwords you set for the printer. Please see steps below: Method 1 (from Standard Menu): - Network/Ports -> press LEFT ARROW button and RIGHT ARROW button simultaneously -> Select NVRAM -> Select "Reinit NVRAM" Method 2 (with Config Menu): - Press CHECK button and RIGHT ARROW button while POR -> Select "Factory Default" -> Select "Restore Network" -> Press CHECK button If you have questions about your Lexmark printer, please feel free to contact us at

CM 1015mfp Colors are not aligned. when printing the characters looks like 3D.

If nothing else works, you may have to manually calibrate the dials inside the mirror box. This video link will show you how.
This may be necessary if the printer got bumped really hard.

Lexmark x4550 install new cartridge but printer read incorrect

Are you using a Lexmark factory new cartridge or a re-filled / third party cartridge. If the answer is that you are using re-filled or a third party cartridge that is your failure. Lexmark does not support the use of these products in there products. In fact, use of these type of products is considered to be -product tampering and will cause Lexmark to void the printer's warranty. Please do not shoot the messenger for the contents of the message. Truth is Truth!

Mono color

These models use a "3 colour" printing process. In other words, these printers do not contain black ink when the BC-05 colour cartridge is installed. To produce black print, a 3 colour printer mixes an equal amount of the three primary colours. This process is known as "composite" black.

As the ink in the cartridge runs out, one of the three primary colours will run out first, depending on the material that has been printed. After one of the three colours has depleted, this colour will be missing from the mixture required to print black, and the print will change colour. This is the indication that the cartridge needs to be replaced. Usually the remaining colours in the cartridge will run out soon afterwards.

Right cartridge incorrect

This solution (RESET the BRICK - solution 1 above) worked for me!

I had a brand new out of the box Lexmark X4580 and after one or two prints I was suddenly getting a "Left Cartridge Incorrect" error showing on the Printer Control Panel and the printer would now all me to print anything.

After about an hour of trying this and that (cartridges in, out and shalen all about!) ; no avail, I tried this and hey presto, it worked.

When I removed the "Brick" power supply I left it until the Green LED had faded right out though, I dont know if that was significant or not. Fingers crossed all is sorted now!
