Question about HP PAVILION A6230N DESKTOP PC

1 Answer

Connecting Printer I am trying to connect an HP 2840 Printer to a new Pavilion 6230 PC. When I put in the software for this it gets to the place where I am to connect the cable to the computer and won't let me go any further in the installation process. Any Ideas?

Re: Connecting Printer

Ideal way to install HP printers is remove USB cable before you start running setup process. when you run setup it will prompt you and ask to plug USB cable then proceed after connecting.

Hp pavilion 700 cpu fan error

Does the new fan have 2 wires or 3 wires?
The 3rd wire transmits the speed (RPM -- revolutions per minute) of the fan.
If the HP motherboard does not detect the "status" from the fan, then you get a "fan error".

Are there 2 places on the motherboard, close to the CPU, where the 3 wires COULD connect? If there are 2 places, connect the 3 wires to the OTHER connector, which should be labelled "CPU FAN".

I have a Lexmark 5400 seies printer and just purchased a HP Windows Visa PC. I am having problems connecting the printer. It keeps telling me that the USB is not connected. I have checked this out and it...

A couple of questions: Are you using an accout that has install rights? (ie. Administrator level account ) Are you seeing the UAC (user account control) prompts if you are are you clicking allow this software to run? Can you install other software? If these are true then

at this point try removing all printer software, then restart computer. Now turn on printer connect usb cable to printer then plug into a usb port on the computer, Do you get a "Found New Hardware" popup window? If so remove the cable from the computer and restart the computer. Now insert the cd that came with printer and follow the instructions for the software installation. If you don't see a "Found New Hardware"prompt then try a new usb cable, or try leaving the printer connected and turning the printer off for about a minute then back on. If this doesn't help try leaving it connected and re booting your machine also try different usb ports on your machine. If none of this helps you may have account permission issues or just bad hardware.
I would really need more info about your machine configuration if these tips don't help

ok, its very easy you can try your self.

1. Put your CD shiped with your printer, you will see the setup screen as well as you insert it.
2. Follow the screen wizard, it will install the required driver and software to your desktop.
3. After that connect your printer to your PC. There will be a chart with your printer which will gide you connecting your printer. For example it will tell you where is the point to connect the power, the USB card etc.
4. Turn on your printer. and enjoy....:))

in other case you have to install your printer manually.
To do this navigate Start -> Printer and Faxses -> Add New Printer
