Question about Yamaha CDC-502 5-Disc CD Changer
This problem is previously listed, but the solution is a little cryptic. My cd player closes, tries to read the cd, ( I can hear it spinning) then opens. Usually the first CD or 2 of the day are okay, then it won't play, just keeps opening. I have had some success with cycling through the discs, coming back to the one I want, then play, but only sometimes... Ideas?
Even if the laser lense cant process the data being read it should not eject and just display disc error or no disc. That's how it normally does. anyway if is is different from yours, try cleaning the laser lense with cotton bud, dampen a bit with rubbing alcohol, then the other end to dry it. rub it in circular motion please and not too hard or excesiove force on it.
lubricate the spindle motor shaft if you can reach, not too much oil, the very thin type household use only. likewise the traverse mech. the mech is not the source of your problem but since you are lubricating the spindle motor then you might as well lubricate the rest of moving parts. try not to put oil in you platine table and other rotating parts like the rubber belts or you'll find another problem later.
