Re: Moto Q 9h will not sync

Try plugging the USB cable into a different port. Sometimes this resolves the problem. Another possibility is to make sure you have the latest version of Active Synch from Microsoft's Mobile Windows site.

Download hotsync

Well, if your PC run Windows XP, install ActiveSync. Otherwise, if it runs Vista or 7, install Windows Mobile Device Center instead. To freely download any of these programs, please, visit this page.
Once the correct program is installed and running, the first time you connect your phone to your PC, you will be prompted to start a new partnership. You'll be able to select the items to be synchronized. E.g. if you want to sync your contacts, calendar and email messages, you should have Microsoft Outook running on your PC too. In order to sync your media files (pictures, music and video), Windows Media Player should be installed too.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can assist you any further.

Moto Q can send, however can not recieve new messages

First thought is that your certificate expired. That would explain why it would work one day and not the next.
Next thought is that you made a change to the IIS server they use to sync. Try deleting the partnership on one phone and recreating it.

If this helps please vote for my solution.

Syncing with PC (windows xp)

Without seeing the error files, it's hard to say what the problem is, here's a few guesses 1. Did you type your contacts into the default contact list? This is the one at the top of the Outlook folder list. You should NOT create a subfolder because ActiveSync by default only synchronizes that one file. 2. You may have an antivirus or internet security program that is preventing ActiveSync from synching. This would show up in the error log. To try this, turn off: - Any firewall programs (including the Windows default one) - Any antivirus programs - Any internet security programs If this solves your problem you should add them back one by one to isolate the issue. Then when you find the problematic program, manually add ActiveSync to the list of always allowed applications.

How do I get the hotsync to sync everytime there is a change?

You may be used to PocketPC ActiveSync. HotSync is an asynchronous synch model - you synch upon demand but not continuously. Pocket PC devices synch all the time while in the cradle. There are advantages to both models. If you want to synch a Palm OS device, you need to press the button. There are some extra appliactions available on that will force your device to synch upon a schdule.

Activesync Problem, Help Pls

Try the following. FIRST & FOREMOST BACKUP YOUR DEVICE TO A "CF CARD" USING THE BUILT IN "CardBackup" UTILITY. This is a much faster option than using ActiveSynch. It ca restore also much faster. Once your files have synched go to options & change the synch options to manual & file conversions to NONE. Remove or switch off the device. Next delete the partnership WITHOUT DELETING THE SYNCH FOLDER !!! Be very careful. Switch on or replace the device on the cradle. Active synch should recognise the device & offer to setup the partnership. Let it do so with "THIS COMPUTER ONLY" option. Once your device is scanned by activesynch one of the options it will offer is of combining the records. Select it & let it synch. I most cases this should solve the problem. Hope this helps.
