- If I put a disk in the e or d drive it will not play any thing. If i try to play a movie disc it will not play. The guy that gave me the comp can not find any of the software disk for the comp.. He had it updated by some unknow company..

I'm not sure what you mean here. When talking about a hard disk you can read or write. If you are Playing a movie from the disk it is still reading really. Can you provide more information please?
