I have a 52 inch hdtv RCA tv. When I first turn it on there is no high pitch noise, but then the high pitch sound will start. At first it would only last for a little while. Now it just stays on my TV is only 2 and a half years old. what could be causing this problem.

I have the same problem with my RCA tv it has a high pitched sound when I turn it on and the tv will not come on.

What did you do to get your tv working properly?

My RCA tv does the same thing. As soon as the tv gets good and warmed up, the high pitched sound starts. My husband does not hear it. I am going to call a repairman for free advice, but will probably just by a new one.

I have the same problem. Mine seems to deal with the brightness of the screen. I turned down the brightness and it got better. It still makes the noise and I am going to take it in to see if it can be fixed. I just don't want to do with out my TV - Isn't that horrible.

I had the same problem - It was due to these two tiny devices called "capacitors" which had blown. I replaced them (it only cost me £1!) and was really easy.
I wrote a guide on how to change the capacitors, there are pictures an d the guide is easy to follow. You can print, download or view the guide here - http://www.scribd.com/doc/13515584/Polaroid-TLU03711C-Replace-Capacitors-Guide

ok does the set show a picture durring this whinning
i have ran into this problems .. sometimes it has to do with a coil that is oscillating...ll037 or ll029...the fix for this is simple if it is the problem. dampen the coil with silicon.

High pitch sound for Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27HS420 27" TV

The high pitch squeal you hear is usually caused by a coil vibrating, normally in the horizontal circuit. I've also seen the ferrite bead on the horizontal output transistor do this, but, it is rare. I normally will repair this by finding the coil and "tightening" it. To tighten a coil, technicians use different chemicals, such as, a hot glue gun, rubber silicone or even finger nail polish. I will find the coil that screams by starting with the usual suspects and using a wooden dowel, barely touch the coil and if the pitch of the noise changes, then, thats the coil that needs repaired. If you do not know your way around the inside of a television, I never recommend you do so, since, this procedure must be done with the set turned on and you poke your hands around the inside of the set by the high voltage circuit. Hope this helps your decision.

High pitch noise when tv warms up

High pitch noise is created mostly by a Coil or a transformer,is not easy finding the source if you are not familiar with this type of coil since there many sizes and shapes, the set needs to be on while trying to find wich part is doing it SO if you dont know where and how better call a Technician and you will be safe.
