Fluctuating pressure I have a brand new Northstar 4000 psi, which I started using today. I start the PW and the pressure is great, then the pressure drops. If I release the trigger the problem repeatsand if I hold the trigger the pressure remains low. Very frustrating when you are trying to work.

Disassemble and clean the carb. If it ran briefly with the starer fluid then gasoline is not coming through the carb.

SOURCE: NO PSI

have you checked to make sure that keyway is installed between electric motor and pump. also adjustment on unloader valve may be incorrect. If the big brass nut on the unloader is able to be turned by hand, then this is probably your problem (running pressure and spike pressure needs to be set and locked down using a pressure guage). does water come out of nozzle at all? if not, tip being stopped up may be the problem. trash between unloader ball and seat can also cause no pressure (usually caused by a burr left inside brass pieces during the manufacturing process). I have seen all the check valves stuck on a brand new unit from sitting on the shelf for so long, but this is usually the case with General Pumps.

SOURCE: northstar pressure washer randomly gives pressure

Hi:
You need to find the bypass (unloader) valve and grease it with a good waterproof grease. Sorry, I cannot find a pic for you

SOURCE: Northstar PW shuts off hot if washer is moved. Honda engine

Being petrol driven, it may have a mercury kill switch which puts a ground on the ignition circuit stopping the engine if you move it. Perhaps for safety in case you overturn the unit somehow.

ProForce PWC102350 2,350 PSI 2.3 GPM 163CC MagnaForce Gas Powered Pressure Washer will not start

If you have compression then the first thing you check is for spark. If you have spark then you move on to the fuel system. You will have to pull off hoses at a couple of points to see if gas is at the carb and further along. If it is the carb then a simple carb kit will work.

I recently purchased a northstar 4000 psi pressure washer. I had the same series pressure washer for the past 6 years and used a downstream chemical unloader quick connect to pull chemical. I attached it...

The injector might be worn out or have something inside of the valve causing it not to ****. If you are using a new high pressure hose or a longer hose this may also have an effect over the injector not working.

I have a trailer northstar unit model# 66DX that looses pressure after you press the trigger. The pressue is great at first but dwindles from there. I have resealed the pump and replaced the spring valve...

Most likely problem is that the unloader is bypassing water. As unloader wears it will by pass at lower pressure. Try lowering the pressure at the regulator to lowest setting then raise pressure a little at a time untill unloader releases then lower to prevent unloading. Using a slighly larger tip will do the same thing. Using a larger tip size lowers pressure.

I have a northstar pressure washer 2000pw serial #03005610 item #157754b someone has took carb off and u was wonderin if u could give me a blowup of how the linkages and springs go ?

You will find your information by looking for model number and code of engine. Look on the fan cover, valve cover engine block or tag directly on the engine itself. Example would be Honda model gx340 from starter of engine. Then check google or mfg. web site for manual showing governor linkage. Norhstar uses several brands of engines. Good luck

Dewalt Pressure washer keeps shutting off for no reason. plenty of gas and oil, water running to it. starts fine and as soon as I start spraying it shuts down.

Had a similar issue with my dewalt 4200 pw. Unit starting shutting off after spraying for about 5 min. Then difficult to restart, but would start again eventually only to shut down a few min later. Had new engine oil, new pump oil, good gas. I changed the spark plug and unit runs great again!

NO PRESSURE

Before you start up the pressure washer, hook up the garden hose, turn on the water, and wait for the water to come out the wand.(keep the triger depressed) If the water just mildly sprays out the nozzle then wait a few minutes for the air to bleed out of it. If the water just drips is has a weak stream then there is an obstruction either before the trigger or the nozzle. If you see water running out of the pump then your pump has damaged seals and/or cracked ceramic pistons. Pressure washers are great but need care. They can not be left out to freeze or it will damage unit. Also they can not be DRY STARTED. They must have water running through them, before start up or it will burn up the seals. If you have any other questions or comments pertaining to this issue please let me know. I will do my best to assist you. Thank you.
