Hello,
Here is what the TI knowledge base says about a calculator failing to turn on.

For the TI-Nspire™ Family:

  1. Remove thekeypad (for TI-Nspire) or the battery door (for TI-Nspire CAS) andremove at least 1 battery from each column of batteries. After 2-5seconds, reinsert the batteries and turn the unit on. This will causethe unit to reboot the operating system.
  2. Remove the keypad(for TI-Nspire) or the battery door (for TI-Nspire CAS) and remove atleast 1 battery from each column of batteries. After 2-5 seconds, reinsert the batteries and LEAVE THE UNIT OFF (do not turn on and thenback off). Hold down [Home] [Enter] [P], and while holdingthese keys, press [On]. The device will boot up as in the previousreset, but will display a menu with the following options. Please tryoptions 1, 2, 3, and 4 in that order. ** The [Home] key is located atthe top right of the TI-Nspire keypad and has a picture of a house onit.
Note:TI-Nspire family model options 2 and 4 above require that the OS be installed. The reset menu will only display if the unit is off and batteries have been removed/replaced as described above.

1. Cancel - The most non-intrusive reset option; no changes are made, the unit restarts.
2. Delete Operating System – The operating system will be deleted without deleting any documents.
3. Delete Document Folder Contents – This will delete the user’s documents, but will not delete the OS.
4. Complete Format – This will delete the OS and all documents for a total erase of memory.

Hope it helps you solve the problem.

How do you brighten screen on lenovo laptop

try adjusting your contrast. Sometimes a full blown contrast setting will blacken the screen. If that doesnt help...contact tech support of the company that manufactured the laptop.

The top half of the screen is black. This is not a contrast issue. I know how to deal with that. It is the top half only.

The most likely answer is that the screen has partly failed.

If it doesnt work then-

My calculater has everything on the screen but its really light. I put in new batteries and it still doesnt work. Its a ti-84.

Turn the calculator on. Press and release the 2ND button. Press and hold the up-arrow button to increase the screen contrast. If you go too far, use the 2ND and down-arrow buttons to decrease the contrast.

Black screen

If one of these solutions doesnt work you will most likely need to purchase a new calculator.

Batteries:
Make sure to replace the "battery backup" too the little lithium ion battery

Try Adjusting contrast:
Hold down "[2nd]" key press up or down arrow repeatedly to lighten or darken contrast.

First attempt reseting:
Step 1: Remove all the batteries
Step 2: Hold "Clear" key down
Step 3: Still holding "Clear" key reinstall batteries
Step 4: Still holding "Clear" key press "On" key until home screen is displayed.

Second shot reseting:
remove all batteries including lithium ion (backup battery), wait 3 hours and reinstall batteries.

Third Shot reseting:
Step 1: Remove a battery
Step 2: Hold down "DEL" key reinstall battery
Step 3: Possible msg pops up saying "Waiting ... Please install software" IGNORE msg and take out battery again
Step 4: Reinstall battery do not hold down "DEL" key

reseting will cause the handheld to loose all of its stored memory.

Hope that helps!

Screen not displaying whole letters because of horizontal and vertical lines

I've had the same problem. A temporary fix that I have found is to turn up the contrast all the way (press [2nd] then hold down the up arrow) until the screen becomes mostly black. Then turn the contrast back down (press [2nd] then hold down the down arrow) until it is at a normal level. If you can get rid of all the white lines when you turn up the contrast the screen will be back to normal. Unfortunately this does not permanently fix the problem because I cannot get rid of all the lines and it seems to be getting progressively worse each time it start up the calculator.
