Re: Logitech mouse freeze every so often for up to 5secs...

Vista is known for compatibility issues, I don't think the problem will be with your KVM switch. If you are using a KVM switch I assume you are at least moderately technically competent.

Possible steps for solution:

  1. Make sure you have enough memory for the vista, it could be paging you driver info. Check the driver in hardware in vista to see if any conflicts.
  2. My favorite: Reset the bios PNP to reorganize resources prior to windows loading. If necessary also load windows in safe mode to also reorganize resources.
  3. Try the mouse connected directly to the machine, eliminating any connection problems.
  4. Try a different mouse to see if the problem continues.
  5. See if logitech has a updated driver to fix this problem.

Toshiiba P200-Vista Ultimate. I can listen to music but cannot get any sounds in the Program Sound Events in windows. IE. Windows Logon-Logoff-Start up etc. I hope you can help, I've tried enerything....

You might have the system sounds disabled, to enable them go to control panel - hardware and sound - under sound - change system sounds. This has all the sounds in vista. I hope this helps!

KVM unresponsive

Try swapping the KVM cables from the 2008 computer into the Vista computer and see if the problem follows the 2008 computer. This KVM gets the drivers it needs from the OS and the IOGear web site does not show any support for 2008.

If your mouse works well without the switch then your switch is defect else your mouse is defect.

Problem with KVM switch and Vista

Your problem has nothing to do with the Operating System (Vista), it has something to do with the brand of your computer. I have similar problem before, I have Vista (Dell), but the time I connected another Vista (Sony Vaio), everything worked correctly.

This is what you need to do:

1. You have to make sure that you are using a standard USB keyboard and mouse.

2. Connect first the keyboard and mouse directly to the Vista computer to see if the USB ports of your computer are working properly.

3. You may power cycle the KVM switch by disconnecting it from the computers (including the keyboard and mouse) and leave it disconnected for 2 minutes.

4. Reconnect everything after two minutes and then reboot the computers.

5. Try using different USB keyboard if problem exist after power cycling the KVM switch.

KVM freeze, mouse and keyboard failure upon keypress

When ever trouble shooting a KVM that has a problem with one computer always swap the cables at the computer end -- that will tell you if you have a computer or KVM issue.
