Problem for Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Error message: Service error 5100 on my new Canon MP160 Printer

I have a brand new Canon PIXMA and i have downloaded all of the software as it told me to in the directions that came with the pc.... but when i got to print something i get an error message that pops up and says service error 5100. can anyone help me with this?
I have also started to get the Service 5100 message frequently and it tells me to Restart my printer. Can anyone explain this to me?

- i just bought two of these. the only thing that stops the blinking of the light is if i take the cartriges out so i keep thinking they are not installed correctly. however, i can't get them to click in correct.- GuestDec 15, 2007
- I'm getting the same problem, its the first time I've ever seen this, I just received the printer a month ago too because I sent it in for repairs. I've tried changing the usb ports, turned of and on, disconnect power then turn on again, nothing works, please help if you have a solution.- pntblnk
