Problem for Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T3 Digital Camera
I have a simillar problem of black screen
I just got this problem started on my Sony DSC T3, the screen is all black but I can review old photos form the memory card.
Sony service center does not honour the recall in Toronto. They want tocharge me $50 for diagnosis and more for repair thereafter.
If Sony knows this is their common problem, then why has it set a time frame on it.
AS someone else has written, even I am souring from sony product, but I have invested in spare battery and a lots of SONY memory cards, which do not work in any other camera.

There may be the issue with the CCD (image sensor device) of the Camera.
