Check you keyboard in Regional settings and see that it is set to a 101 type (US or Aust) otherwise key location can change, also are you talking about Shift Keys or the Up/Down, Left/Right scroll arrows, let me know, otherwise something has gone arye on the keyboard itself.

My keyboard will no longer display on the screen. It is like the computer does not recognize keyboard. The computer works fine with the pen, but not the keyboard. I tried another keyboard and it did not work either.

Type the ^ * and other symbols

Your on screen keyboard should have a button labeled ?123, after pressing this to switch to numbers/symbols, press the Shift key to change to additional symbols.

Look for HP wireless assistant. Download it from HP at the page pertaining to your computer. On my Tx2623 there is a switch to the right, front edge.

Hi, my mom just got a IBM thinkpad. It worked just fine then the other day she told me the keyboard and mouse didn't work.I know somewhat about computers and tryed to fix this problem.I plugged in a mouse...

Check if you have any button on panel says about to lock the keys and mouse? Use your manual book if you have one. Lenovo has got this buttons that locks the keys and mouse to prevent unautorized use while you are away. Possible located next to the audio or power button.

No keyboard instructions

You need to press the Function button, then the num lock button. The function button may be labeled FN or F in a different color, the same color as the num lock button.

If that doesn't work, go to start, all programs, accessories, accesibility, on screen keyboard....it will display a regular keyboard on your screen, then click on the num lock key on that keyboard.

Toshiba R100 keyboard not working

I did the same some two years ago, with the R100 on. I switched everything off, dismounted the computer body (not the screen)up to the last screw, and dried that sweet coffee from everywhere where I found it. Mostly this was the keyboard and mouse. The motherboard is luckily protected by some plastic sheet.

Regarding the keyboard, after disconnecting it from the motherboard, I washed it completely under flowing water and then let it dry for several days. In the meantime, I used a USB one. Since then, I used the same keyboard for two years until now, when it died, apparently rather from some motherboard-related reason than water. So I think - you may get a new keyboard, but if youre lucky, you may as well revive this old one.

Does the keyboard mouse still work? If not you most likely have the same problem many other users have had, it is with the USB 2.0 not the keyboard and there is a fix for it. Go to this page and download the "enhancement" http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=0&prodSeriesId=307008&swItem=PSG_I18120-101252&prodNameId=307010&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=2

Let me know if this is what was wrong, if not I have some other thoughts.

Key board and mouse is locked

Try plugging an external keyboard and/or mouse.

See if that works.
