Do you see anything on the monitor screen? Does the tower make any beeping noise or clicking noise, or does the fan tries to start up when you power the computer on? Are the cables connected properly?
If you see anything on the monitor screen, or if you hear a beeping sound, let us know so we can diagnose further.
If you hear exactly ONE beep, it means that your computer-hardware (power-supply, CPU, motherboard) is OK.
Multiple beeps are "bad" -- they identify different errors.
If Windows does not "boot", then the power-surge may have damaged your 'C:' drive. Ouch!
beep noise indicates that the RAM is not detected....
TURN OFF computer....remove power supply....open the cabinet and remove the RAM.... clean it using a soft non-moist cloth...plug it back....
your computer will start...
still if it is not starting, then the RAM might have gone faulty, try to check with other RAM.....
Does beeping noise happened before turning on laptop? If yes unplug the laptop from the AC Adapter. Just leave AC Adapter ON and connected to the power outlet. Check if AC Adapter is the one making beeping noise. Note: This is an issue with dell AC Adapter laptops
If no beeping noise in AC Adapter then proceed checking it from the laptop. Does beeping noise happened immediately when laptop is turned on? If yes then it might be laptop's hard drive creating the sound. Try to check the BIOS in your laptop under the category performance if the HDD Acoustic is ON either in Normal or Performance. Note: When laptop is in performance the hard drive makes noise due to its speed, this is normal if BIOS HDD Acoustic mode is ON to performance.
If the noise only happens when sometime while working on the laptop, this might be cause by the laptop fan. This also happens after turning on the laptop fan my have dirt and dust, please do check.
If fan was cleaned, HDD performance was checked and AC adapter was checked then, carefully sense if noise is coming from the internal speakers.
Download the latest BIOS update for your laptop then flash the BIOS. Make sure battery and AC adapter are connected when doing these.
Computer beeping at you is usually a problem with the video card or memory. Try re-seating both and see if you still have the same problem. If you do, individually remove each component and power on to test if the beeps persist.
I think this should be a problem with the CPU and not the monitor, Is there a continuous beep sound coming , If so then there is a problem with the Memory.
Your Monitor is not connected properly http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/setup/wireless.mspx
Connecting Your Monitor 1. Turn off your computer and unplug the power cord. 2. Connect the white connector end of the DVI cable attached on the monitor to the connectors on the computer. 3. Connect the USB cable that was included with your monitor to the computer and the upstream USB connector on the monitor. Once this cable is connected to the computer and the monitor, you can use the USB downstream on the monitor. 4. Connect any USB devices. 5. Connect the power cord. 6. Turn on your monitor and computer. If you do not see an image, see Troubleshooting Your Monitor.
NOTE: The Monitor will display full screen in White, Black, Red, Green and Blue color rolling pattern on screen if the DVI cable is not connected. This self test pattern will be displayed continually when Monitor detects that DVI cable from Monitor to PC is not connected.
* Check connection integrity at both ends of the video cable. * Ensure the monitor and computer are plugged in to a working electrical outlet. * Ensure power button is depressed fully.
we have different sound we can hear in cases of hardware problem, once the video card has loose contact it also beep continously, a beep sound also occurs when the ram(memory card) loose contact, one beep sound when it boot clearly it proceeds as go signal going to operating system. if you are using an upgraded video card remove temporarily and use the on-board from your motherboard. in case that it won't boot and still you hear a beep, beep ,sound then, switch-off the power take out the memory card clean the contact points(bronze color) with pencil eraser, make sure that no remaining residues of eraser remained before you install to the slot. i hope that this solves your problem
