Question about Coffee Grinders

Cuisinart DBM-8 coffee grinder

All of the sudden only half the amount of coffee is being ground at the same setting. I've tried emptying and refilling the hopper without success. Any suggestions?

The grinder was registered on-line 09/16/07.

Re: Cuisinart DBM-8 coffee grinder

Have you tried checking the output chute at the bottom to see if it is clogged up? I was having low flow issues, which is how I found this post, and went and cleaned it out completely. I was amazed, and a bit disgusted, at how much powder was stuck in there. The top screws off nice and easy. then just use the brush down the chute there and at the front behind where the bin is. I also ran popping corn through it and got out even more. Then I threw all the attachments into the dishwasher, top rack like the manual says.

Hope that helps you.

Do yourself a favor and got the right kind of grinder for the coffee you drink. If you have a dry coffee use a grinder. High oils in some coffee need the blade type of grinder. Usually you can tell by looking inside the bad. See oily coating get a blade type.

Cuisinart DBM-8 coffee grinder started by itself.

Mine did it as well. I had an electrician out to check out the outlet. He replaced the outlet, but it still has done it. It freaks me out, so I unplug it after use.

Grinder will not start

Make sure that the coffee ground container is fully inserted. You may need to make sure there are no grounds are keeping it from seating properly. Use something soft such as a toothpick to clean it thoroughly...Good Luck.

Cuisinart coffee grinder keeps clogging

Unplug first. Unscrew the top. You need a long thin screw driver Phillips head is the best. Pock around the exit and entrance where the coffee beans are ground. Remember, the better the coffee and you will get more clumping of the beans. I works great. It is pain. The Chicago Clout man exits.

Coffee does not go from grind to brew basket. Plugs..must clean every time

Try running some unflavored panko breadcrumbs or rice through it. That will clean it up and remove any oil that's causing sticking. Try to use less oily coffee in the future to avoid this.

Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill stopped grindin

We are on our second and last machine; after this DBM 8 goes out, I am going to find the most basic grinder I can and stick with it. That said, I fixed ours by removing the clear plastic reservoir where the ground coffee ends up, and then removing the build-up of coffee grounds around the exit chute where the ground beans enter the reservoir.
So, slide the reservoir out, just as you would when emptying it in to your coffee maker and set it aside. Have a flashlight ready when you tilt the grinder forward. On the back side you will see the hole where the ground beans empty into the reservoir. Take a toothpick and get rid of all the clay-like coffee reside that has built-up around that hole. Use a can of dusting air, if possible, (the aerosol "can" type used to blow dust particles from your computer) and blow away all possible ground coffee residue in the hole and around it. This will allow the reservoir to seat snug and flush again. This process fixed ours and I don't know why for sure, other than I suspect, the clay like build-up of coffee grounds, over time prevents the reservoir from seating properly and it has to seat perfectly to work. Good luck.

Cuisinart grinder stem wobbles

Search Cuisinart's website for DBM-8 - that model has exactly the same parts as your Cuisinart. If you call them, they may even cover it under warranty.

The model that you have is Costco's equivalent of the DBM-8 - the parts are exactly the same, so enter "DBM-8" as your model # on the Cuisinart website for parts.
