Hello,

If you cannot access your Task Manager when Pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Del, this means you have a virus on your system which has disabled the task manager. If you have a good antivirus like Norton, Kaspersky or McAfee try scanning to detect the virus.

OR

Format your system, but before doing that makesure you backup your data before doing that.

Regards

Try closing it with the task manager. Click CTRL+ALT+DEL then select the Application tab and see if it is listed as running. Click it to highlight it then select End Process.

You have to Press and Hold the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys. Do not turn them loose until after you hit the DEL (Delete) Key.

Don't have a an icon

Please give more details as to what is happening and when it happens?

If you are saying your computer boots up but there are No Icons on the desktop, then a virus or infection has hidden them or changed some settings.

Click the Ctrl/Alt/Del keys to start the Task Manager. Press and Hold the Ctrl and Alt keys then hit the Del key. When the task manager opens up click the Processes tab. Under the processes tab click the columnar heading Image Name to sort the items running in alphabetical order. Look to see if you see explorer.exe running under the image name. If you do click it one time to highlight it then click the END PROCESS button at the bottom right of the Task Manager Window.

Next click FILE at the very top left corner of the Task Manager Window and select New Task (Run..). When the Create New Task window pops up type in: explorer.exe and press OK. Your desktop icons and start menu should start populating.

Blank screen

A white blank screen? That sounds like the virus changed your display settings. Click Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to the task manager. Press and hold the Ctrl key plus the Alt Key then hit the Del key. When the task manager opens up Click File at the upper left corner of the window then select New Task RUN. When the create New Task Window opens type: explorer.exe and hit OK. See if it starts populating your desktop icons and shows the start menu and task bar. If so, the virus changed your settings.

To change your display background click Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization. When it opens select the Desktop tab and change the desktop background. Hopefully the white will go away.

You may have to get into Safe Mode to do the above if the virus disabled the Task Manager.

Ctrl+ALT+Del does not launch Task Manager on my MobilePro 900, why?

The Ctrl-alt-del short cut to the Task Manager is not on the MobilePro 900. To bring up Task Manager on the MobilePro 900, hold the "Alt" key and then tap the task bar with the stylus simultaneously. A menu with "Task Manager" and "Properties" will be displayed, select Task Manager.
