Re: black screen

Apparently this same problem exists on many different models. I have a JVC grd72u. I called JVC @ 800-252-5722. I selected the "Corrective Action Program" prompt from the automated attendent. I spoke to a customer service rep. They are aware of the problem and are fixing it for free, but only until 12/31/07. I suggest you call ASAP and get your name in the computer. If the problem is something besides the CCD sensor, they will call you with the estimate to repair.

Re: black screen

The ccd image sensor of your camera is the problem...i know it is free for replacing that sensor..that trouble is also in sony, canon, samsung and the other cameras brand cause the manufacturer of their sensor is only one company that why they recall it from the batch of 2002 to 2004..log on to the jvc costumer care to see all the detail...

When i turn on camcorder all i have is a black screen and the words lens cap but the cap is already off.

It sounds problem of ccd imager chip failure in your camcorder that is why it wont show live view/ black screen.
Replace ccd imager chip to solve the issue.

Black screen

Symptom shows its ccd imager chi failure problem and ccd imager chip will be replaced in your camcorder.
CCD Imager chip is an electronic part that converts an image into electronic signal for further process in camcorder circuit boards.
Take your camcorder to local camera repair shop for ccd imager replacement as it is not user level repair and requires qualified tech.

When I turn on the digital video camera (JVC GR-D65OU) it says "Remove lens cap" but the lens cap is off, please help

When this error again shows up try pressing the reset button for 10 seconds to reset the camcoder. It will be a small black button, which can be pressed using a ball pen or pin.

JVC camcorder no picture on screen remove lens cap and unable to record problem is down to a faulty batch of ccd image sensors (thousands that Sony supplied) and if you phone the JVC servce centre (0845 3108000) and explain the problems you are experiencing its a good chance they will repair it free depending on model (I know because I have done just that and JVC are paying for it to be collected, repaired and returned totally free of charge, and mine was purchased in 2004. What have you got to lose the price of a phone call or about £70 to £90 to have it repaired yourself
Good luck syrups6

Display is black even after removing the lens cap

See my post of before. I just knocked the camera on the floor by mistake and it miraculously started working again after years. Shows it must be mechanical and not related to software.

Mv600i digital video camcorder - no image on lcd screen in cam or playback mode

please someone help with this. My camcoder works very well when watching things I've filmed before but when I want to record it does not function. All I get on the LCD screen is the blue screen with Canon on it and through the lens it is black. The lens cap is of course removed. Then when I turn the red button to off position the camcoder does not turn off and the screen remains blue. I have to remove the battery to turn it off.
I've had my camera for 4 years and I filmed so many precious family moments in it.

No Picture in record

Oh yes it could be the pan caps as we call them as where if left long enough will distroy the PCB!! Anther common trouble with these jvcs as well with some other brands of camcorders is a stuck iris assy as oil or dust gets on them and stops it from opening at power up But I suspect the cap problem and Im sorry to say is most likely cost prohibited because you may have to replace the entire PCB if its even still available.. Oh the uto iris i9s built deep inside the lens assy and the lens has to be taken off the camcoder body abd disassembled and take a bit of time to do. Good Luck
