SOURCE: Refrigerator trips GFI outlet

unlikely to be the defrost timer. more likely to be the defrost element. try disconnecting the element and see if it trips then. could be of course a wiring fault - frayed wires etc

SOURCE: suddenly tripped off house

Hi akula, 200 ks to a fridgie, LG appliance, you must be in Australia;) Is it the earth leakage circuit breaker operating. If so, then you have a leakage problem to earth from the heater pad(not quite sure what that is, but this problem will need to be repaired. Am doing some research to see if there is anything that can be done without just getting a new fridge. Back to you soon.

regards
Graeme

Could be a wire short, bad defrost heater, or comp. pulling too many amps which is between 2 and 6 or higher being bad. I would say the main problem is you purchased a LG fridge which is a poorly made fridge, sorry.

SOURCE: My whirlpool refrigerator trips the main power

Pankaj, Do you have a ohm meter? Sounds like you have something shorting back. First take the meter to the cord. On the end of the cord, you should show no continuity from each male prong to the ground prong on the cord itself. If you show continuity, you have something shorting back. Then I would start with the compressor, Unplug the wires going to the overload and relay, make sure the units unpluged and meter the cord again. If it's ok, then the problem is in the overload and relay. Start there and let me know, if it still showing a short, then we will have to go to the controls, heater, and repeat the process until you find the culprit. Catriver.

My westinghous side by side fridge keeps on tripping after every 3 hours .

Probably the result of the compressor being overworked, either because of an accumulation of dust and dirt on the bottom coils or a burned out fan. Both are relatively easy to fix yourself.

I preach the gospel of keeping your refrigerator clean. Accumulation of dirt and dust on the bottom coils can make your compressor build up enormous amounts of pressure in the line and make it VERY difficult to start and run. Clean the coils and while you've go the back off the refrigerator, make sure the fan is running when the refrigerator is running. If not, replace the fan.

Odds are that one of these two simple fixes (which you can do yourself) will fix the problem. If not, you'll probably have to call a repairman.

My refrigerator want get cold, however vents inside the refrigerator freezes. My milk keeps spoiling due to not getting cold enough

The defrost circuit in your fridge has failed. That is why the ice is blocking the vents preventing the cold air from entering the fridge compartment. The circuit consists of the control module that turns off the compressor and powers the heater and when the coil heats up to 40 deg F, the thermostat cuts the power to the heater. It a relatively easy to troubleshoot and repair if you have some mechanical ability and familiar with electrical meters and electrical safety. If not, an appliance repair specialist should be about to diagnose and fix this issue. The typical failures are the defrost heater burning out and if worst case a module needs to be replaced. Hope this helps you.
