Re: I want to fit a video card to my computer but I dont...

Hey nu2dis,

That MSI NX7300 (geforce 7300), is a PCI Express card.

Unless you've got a board that's at the most, 2yrs old, you probably won't be able to use it unless you upgrade.

A good site to look for a card that may fit, is , or

IF you post your exact motherboard model, I could tell you what you would need.

But to tell the diff between AGP and PCI,

AGP will be a slot, that looks diffirent then the other slots. (the board will have 2-4 slots that look idential, and those are usually PCI, and then it will have one that's actually set back a bit further, and may even be a diffirent color, if its not PCIe, then it's AGP). ANOTHER thing you have to look for to, is the speed of AGP. Most cards today are AGP 8x. If you're board is say...older then 4 yrs, you prob have AGP 4x, or AGP 2x.

If you're still unsure, post the model of board, and I'll help you out.

If it is quite old it may not have an AGP slot in that case you will need to buy a PCI card for it.

IF, and I stress IF, you decide you simply want to replace the motherboard, get one that matches your processor socket, and be super careful when removing, cleaning, and replacing it.
The question will be, will your new motherboard fit in your case. Simply get one with similar specs as your current one.
most MSI products fit inside of an acer case though.

Could be your BIOS version doesn't support that grahics card. Try instaling MSI LiveUpdate and flashing your BIOS (LiveUpdate download here:
If that doesn't help, maybe try another graphics card in the system, see if it'll boot.

I want the instalation for vga carrd compatabile at motherboard msi pm8m-v plz... thank you very much

I tried to look up you manual for *********** board but I would have needed the CPU socket and the type cpu either AMD or INTEL. so I am answering w/o the info. If your motherboard  already had an VGA video card Either AGP,PCI or PCIe. on a slot all you have to do is buy the same type of card, plug it in where the old one went, install the sofware that came with it, including the driver.
If you are tryign to install a present card. Go to the manufactors website of that card ,download the software and driver and instal the same. Write back with more details and we can  provide  more specific directions.

If VGA or PCI-16 slot is failing along with audio , you can purchase a pci sound card and a pci video card , but the best thing to do it just get an entire new motherboard or machine .

Hi m_o_redz,
If you are using the on-board (integrated video), S3 Graphics Chrome9 HC Integrated Graphics core. Than check you're video cable, video cable connection. Try another monitor. If all check out ok than the MSI integrated video is defective. Suggest you install a PCI-E video card.
If you are using a PCI-E card, try removing it. Clean the copper contacts using a cotton swab & alcohol. (Let it dry) Than reseat the PCI-E card.
Try booting again.

Good Luck!

Motherboard problem

Dear Carl,

We cannot conclude the video card is working properly until it displays to the screen. One was to tell: If the computer is whining in the case, if you can insert and hear CD music, and if you can hear the hard drive cranking in the case, then its likely your motherboard is working; the video card may be playing possum on you. If it's a PCI, remove it and insert it again. Also check your RAM to make sure it is properly inserted. If the computer is not booting and playing sounds, either the RAM or the VIDEO will be the first culprits.

Keep updating us, ok.
