Re: samsung j600 message alert

The best solution for that is just trade it for other brand of cellphone! Samsung J600 sucks and all its feature.

How to change incoming message alert on samsung sgh d600

Hi I'm afraid that on earlier Samsung models it was not possible to change the alert tone for sms messaging. You usually only got 10 preset alerts. Ringtones was ok to change only if in right format recognised by handset.
Hope that helps?

By alert you mean the Tones of the Incoming Messages:

Go to Menu--Settings--Phone Profiles--Click the Arrow next to the profile you have already been using--on the top You will see an arrow facing download (a drop down menu button)--click--select New Messages--on clicking the Message Alert Tone box you will see loads of tones that you would want to select--in case if you want any song or tone that you have on you mobile to be your default message alert--select "sounds" at the bottom--select the "arrow" on the top go to the directory where you have the it and "Add" and then click "Save"

On normal nor silent profile no alert coming for incoming calls only

Try restoring the factory settings of your phone!

Go to : SETTINGS then FACTORY SETTINGS.. security code: just type 12345.

If still there is no tone alert, then im sure there is a problem with your phone's buzzer, or it might need to clean the contact of the buzzer insice the board. Just try this....

Kindly rate this up! thank you

I would like to change text message ring tone but can only find how to change ringtone and not for text messages

I found the answer!! Go to Menu>Settings>Profiles, then go to Options>Edit. Push the right side of the square (that you use to navigate the menus) so that you're working with New Messages, not Incoming Call. Go down to Message Alert Tone, then go to Options>Change>Use Effect Tone. If you were trying to use an .mmf that you downloaded, or any of the preloaded ones that can be used as incoming call ringtones, you'd go to Use My Alert Tone here. There are 4 tones under Use Effect Tone, and you can play them and choose one, just like you do to play and choose your ringtone.
