Depends on the motor's priceHowever I would suggest that you replace the entire unit due to cost of repairman and motor itself. Good Luck hope this helped

Testimonial: "Good advise! Thanks Dave! I pulled the motor our and priced it...cost was about $160.00...it also needs a new element. Better to buy a new unit!"

Why is my whirlpool dishwasher making a loud noise during drain, wash and rinse cycles?

They can be complicated to re-assemble. Best solution is to video the procedure (if you have a video camera) during disassembly and make notes and diagrams to orient things properly and make sure the correct screws go back where they shoud. Takes more time, but you'll be glad you did, it will save you a lot of aggrevation in the long run.

GE pdw9980lss dishwasher makes a horrible squealing noise when not in use.

The dishwasher control panel must be defective, nothing else would cause this.

Kenmore 587-1519 dishwasher 5 years old just started making a squealing noise during certain times on any wash cycle. Noise is coming from under the tub.

Sounds like something is stuck in the pump. Your pump propeller may be going out causing strain on the windings of the pump. If you have anymore questions please comment me back.

I have an MDB760 dishwahser making a lot of noise

The pump is not turned on when the what is sloshed around. It is the wash motor which turns the arms around. It is likely something is stuck under the washer arms or the washer motor bearing is faulty.

If the dishwasher is only about 2 years old, I would suggest you call Maytag for warranty service. Depending on the part they will have different warranty time period. Normally 2 years should be a general policy .

When washer is started make loud grinding noise

Very likely the bearings in the motor have begun to fail. You can replace the motor, but for a 15 year old DW, sometimes it makes better sense to just buy a new one. Depends on the features the old DW has, vs new, vs motor replacement cost.

Load grinding noise, like the engine is working too hard.

Most likely the motor/pump assembly is worn out and grinding. If the machine is less than five years old it is under warranty. If over five years old, the repair part alone is about $150 not including labor.

Load crunching noise

The motor has a 2 to 5 year warranty so if that's what the repair guy says I would go ahead and have it repaired. The noise can come from the pump, impellers or the motor. But if he's sure that's where it's coming from have it fixed by the repair service under warranty.
