Hi,

The message "NTDETECT error" and "...not detected/not listed in BIOs..." indicates that you have a similar problem with the new hard drive. Your best option would be to seek replacement since the new should still be under warranty.

In some instances, it could just be some corrupt files which would require re-install of your Operating System. Other extreme cases would require a check likewise of your PC's memory.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things worked out or should you need additional information.

good luck and kind regards.

How can I fix my dell inspiron m5030 hard drive crash

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Drive not detected

sounds like your hard drive has crashed. you can either simply reset the cmos and try again, if it doesn't work still you'll probably need to replace the drive.

The hard drive crashed will not start

If the hard drive have crashed meaning that the hard drive itself is damaged, then your solution is to replace a new harddrive. If you do have a recovery disc already made, or one is provided then you will have to use that disc once the hard drive is replaced with the new one, and follow the procedure to reinstalled the operating system. If the original hard drive had crash and does no work anymore (where the bios/computer cannot detect it) and you have important data that you would like to retrive, there are places such as office depot, bestbuy, where they can help you send it to a recovery file center to recover files from your damaged hard drive. Do not attemp to fix or open a damaged harddrive, you can forever damage the files on the cyclinder disc. 2) Now if your harddrive crash in term as windows just crashing and you cannot get into your operating system and the bios is still able to detect the hard drive, and it's giving you a error message, then you will only need to reinstall, or do a windows recovery through your recovery disc, If you do not have a recovery or made the disc, then you will need to buy a new operating system software. If you computer does not start meaning no display on the screen at all, then please replay back. That is a different story.

consider to replace your hard drive, your hard drive detected crash on your bios so you have to replace it. your hard drive can be use to external hard drive buy some external hard drive case 2,5"
you can re partition your hard drive and maybe if you are lucky the harddrive can be use again on your laptop

It doesnt detect my harddrive and it causes windows to crash...how do i fix it?

If the BIOS cannot detect the hard disk then probably the hard disk is faulty.
To check if the hard disk is faulty, remove the hard disk and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer cannot detect the hard drive or open the folders and files, then the hard disk is faulty.
To get your computer operating again, replace the hard drive with a new one and install Windows on the new hard drive plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.

Hard drive issue

You'll need to replace the hard drive. Basically, if the hard drive is not being detected in BIOS, that means that there is something wrong with the hard drive's onboard logic board.
Don't spend any more time on it until the HDD is repalced.

Also, I'm an Army veteran and I appreciate your service and commitment.
