Hi,

You can try "Ctrl+Alt+Esc";
Additionally, to restore Acer BIOS - press and hold the F10 key while powering on;
Others you can try are: F1, F2, Esc, Del & F10
On some really old machines:
CTRL + ALT + INS
CTRL + ALT + ENTER
CTRL + ALT + S
PAGE UP KEY
PAGE DOWN KEY

Hope that this be of some help. Pls post back how things worked out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

What is boot order on acer laptop

Enter your BIOS and look under Boot, Boot Sequence, or Boot Settings. You can see the BIOS entry key when your computer boots. Typically, its F2 or the delete key as soon as you see the title screen. You can change the sequence as needed. You can also do a one time boot if it is enabled. That key may be F10 or F12.

Cant start acer 5920

Hi Dear,

Check the mention below instruction to solve you problem.

1. Is the boot sequence in BIOS set to boot from CD or DVD, if not I would suggest you to go to BIOS and change the boot sequence to boot from CD and try to boot from the CD

2. Is the computer custom built or OEM built?

3. What is the model number and who is the manufacturer of the computer?

4. Have you made any changes to the computer by installing any new software or hardware?

5. Since when are you unable to boot the computer normally?

6. You need to get Windows Vista DVD to perform further troubleshooting either to scan the computer or to perform repair install, I would suggest you to contact the computer manufacturer to obtain vista DVD.

Thanks

Invailid disc

Did you reinstall windows? If not, you need to put an operating system disk in the cd drive and boot from it and reinstall windows.

If you don't get an option to Press Any Key to Boot From CD message then turn the computer off and restart it and watch the screen for which key it says to hit to Change the Boot Order or Boot Sequence. Hit that key when you see the message otherwise it will not work and you will have to reboot. This is a temporary fix that will work that this boot cycle.

If you want to make a permanent change to the boot cycle or boot sequence you have to turn the computer off then turn it on and watch for which key it says to hit to get into the Bios or System Setup. You have to hit that key when you see the message or it will not work and you'll have to start over. Once inside the Bios or System Setup got the the Boot Tab so you can change the boot order or boot sequence. Normally you want it to boot from the CD drive 1st and the Hard Drive 2nd. With this setup just make sure when you boot the computer that you don't have a music cd or movie dvd in the drive or it will try to boot from it and give you an error message.

My partner got a laptop emachines m250 and her son pressed system restore by accident now we cant get past the password to get onto desktop

It sounds like you might be trying to boot into a domain or lan. Turn the computer off and turn it back on and watch the screen for which key it says to press to Change the Boot Order or Boot Sequence. Hit that key when you see the message otherwise you will have to restart and try again. Select the Hard Drive as your boot option and let it boot up. If you are successful this is a temporary change and will have to be done each time you boot the computer. See below on how to make it permanent.

If you are successful then you want to turn the system off again and reboot looking at the screen for which key it says to hit to get into the Bios or System Setup. Hit that key when you see the message or you'll have to try again. When the Bios is open tab over to the Boot Sequence or Boot Order and set the dvd/cd as 1st and the Hard Drive as 2nd. This is the normal boot sequence and when you boot just make sure you don't have a music cd or movie video in the dvd/cd drive or you might get an error message if it tries to boot from it. The cd/dvd is first just in case the hard drive fails then you can use a cd to try and make repairs.

I get the following error message: Check cable connection! PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

You computer is trying to boot from somewhere other than your hard drive.

Turn the computer off and when you turn it on, watch the screen for which key it says to hit to Change the Boot Order or Boot Sequence. Hit that key when you see the message or it will not work and you will have to reboot and try it again. Select the Hard Drive as your bood device and let it boot up. This is a temporary change only good for this boot cycle. You need to make a permanent change to the boot order.

To make a permanent change to the boot order or sequence, turn the computer off and watch the screen for which key it says to hit to get into the BIOS or System Setup. Hit that key when you see the message or you will have to restart and try again. Once you get into the BIOS or System Setup tab over to change the boot order or boot sequence. Normally the best sequence is to have the DvD/CD drive 1st and the Hard Drive 2nd. Just make sure when you boot the computer that you don't have a music cd or movie dvd in the drive or you will get an error message if it tries to boot from it. You want this sequence just incase you have problems with your hard drive, then you can put a repair disc or system disc in the dvd/cd drive and it will boot from it so you can try to fix the problem.

I have acer aspire 3000+ and cant change bios setup to boot first from cd rom and erecovery doesnt work

Why can't you change the bios setup to change the boot order or boot sequence?

Also you can change the boot order or boot sequence temporarily by just rebooting the laptop then watch the screen for which key it says to hit to change the boot sequence or boot order, then hit that key when you see the message.

Check cable connection..! PXE-E63: Error while initializing the NIC PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

Hard drive is not detected. Change the Boot sequence in BIOS

1. To access the BIOS you must tap F2 or delete key upon turning the computer on
2. Try to look for the Hard drive if it is detected by BIOS if not got to step 6
3. Look for Boot Sequence or anything that is associated Boot
4. The Order boot of must be 1st: DVD Drive, 2nd: Hard drive, 3rd: Network etc.
5. Save the changes and Restart
6. If you still get the same message I suggest that you take out the hard drive and put it back in until it is detected in BIOS
7. If Step 6 did not work I think you need to replace the Hard drive

Thanks for Choosing

How i can boot up win xp on bootable usb on acer travelmate 2413lc

1st of all plug in the usb bootable device. Then:
When you start up your computer it should say something like press f2 or f8 or something for setup. Hold down that key when the computer is starting up then:
1. Search through the BIOS with the arrow keys and enter for the setting to change the boot sequence.
2. Change the boot sequence to have your computer boot from the device first.
3. Then save the changes and reboot your computer.

I cant get it to let me change the boot setting so i can boot from cd

The moment you turn on your computer start taping F12 key on your keyboard, It will lead you directly to boot menu where you can select CD rom as your boot device, if that doesn't work that go to BIOS and under Bios you will either see "boot sequence" or "Boot" options from where you can change the sequence of your boot devices.

I cant install a new operating system into my HDD. My setup does not suportt boot from CD.

The Bios Settings need to be changed to boot from The ATAPI drive. When you turn on computer press the F2 or F1 or Delete button, sometimes its F10. Once you are in the bios setting look for boot devices. Follow the on screen instructions to change the boot order. I hope this helps.
