Question about EliteGroup ECS P4M800-M Socket 478/P4M800/FSB800/A&V&L/M-ATX Motherboard (MOTEC18)
This is only a quicktest to see if the motherboard is no longer working.
I am using a mother board model of ECS P4KM800-m7. It only serve me for almost a year only, then it crashes.
If I remove all the peripherals including the add on cards and the memory(RAM) and the processor (INTEL P4 1.45Ghz), and what is left connected to the motherboard is the monitor connected to the onboard graphics, would it display anything or none at all? Or will it sound or beep, if there is nothing connected in it?
My test results were it doesnt show anything on the screen and no beeping sound. Is this mean motherboard is no longer working.
Hoping for your advice. thank you.
Either motherboard, ram module or if no power at all sounds more like a power supply. If the computer has on board video you will need the ram to get any video. But with it removed the board should still beep if the case speaker is connected to the board. Have seen a lot of these less expensive motherboards fail. If there is no power up at all or lights coming on on the case I would think it is a power supply problem. Happens all the time and quite easy to repair. Just put on a new power supply.
