what does a puk number do, i am giving my phone to someone else and they want to keep their own number not the one i have.i can not remember what to do to after i put the puk number in and now i want to unblock with the other number i have but do not know how to

- thanks,but it does not quite solve my problem though. AS i was putting my puk number in my phone kept going off and i do not know if it worked. because it is showing 'no service' HELPSolution #1

PUK code is for "unlock" your PIN code (if 3x typed incorrect it'll block). You have 10 attempts after that your SIM will be unusable for good...
Your SIM is probably gone...Try different SIM(if phone is locked then SIM from the same operator as your curent SIM) and see if it works...

- PUK code is NOTHING to do with phone. It's related to SIM, only purpose is to unlock PIN (PUK 1 for PIN1 and PUK2 for PIN2).Your SIM is probably gone...Try different SIM(if phone is locked then SIM from the same operator as your curent SIM) and see if it works...
