Trying to replace lamp in HDTV and having trouble. Does not function correctly after putting in new bulb. Boots up and then visuals go black and the green power light keeps flashing. Help?

Panasonic DLP TV Bulbs

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

TY-LA1001 Timer reset

While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.

Won't turn on, flashing red light

It seems you ballast is going out, i recommend you replaced, don't waste money buying lamps with this issue, get the ballast, they run around 60dll so it's a good deal, go to discountdashmerchantdotcom i've been getting parts from them and they offer great service, it's worth giving them a shot :)

It could be the ballast that is bad. A bad ballast also shortens the Lamp life .
