Timex t439s clock display light out

The backlight on the clock's lcd display is completely out. Instructions say to tap the snooze bar repeatedly to adjust the brightness, but it's just gone. Are these liable to burn out (it's two years old) and if so, is it possible to service?

I have the same problem. Everything is still working but you can barely see it. Is there a way to replace the bulb?

I have the same problem. Backlight was a bit intermittent then just went completely out. Everything else seems to work. This unit is about 9 months old. I am disappointed that it malfunctioned so quickly. The last alarm clock I had lasted 15+ years.

The display on my clock is red as well. I found it that way when I came home from work today. It had lost all of its settings as well. I put everything back to the way it was supposed to be but I can't get the color to change. I guess something just quit.

The light is so low that i cannot read the numbers when it's dark and I cannot figure out how to adjust the lighting so its brighter

Your device has adjustable display: There are 3 levels of lighted display, pressing the snooze/dimmer button allows you to change between the three.
Good luck!

This is how you control the back light display on your scanner.
SNOOZE/Backlight - Backlight: Tap the snooze button to turn the LCD backlight on for 15 seconds. Press and hold to permanently turn on the backlight. Press and hold again to turn off the backlight.

Clock radio display doesn't light up.

I just got a similar model at Big Lots a few months ago. A T439S. There some funky stuff they do with those displays it could be that the lamp is wearing out. 7 years is good life for them.

I could not get this manual to load from the link. Other manuals would load, but not this one. I also found from Timex's website that Model T435 is almost identical to T439 except for the docking bay for IPod. Setting instructions and button configuration seems to be the same. Change color

There should be a button on the top of the radio. If it's a steady red, then you've got the same problem I have.
