Instuctions on how to change a pitco fryer from nat gas to propane

Hi there!
You need to order a gas valve conversion kit (from nat to propane), propane pilot orifice and propane burner orifice,
Gas valve conversion kit consists of a replacement spring thicker than of natural gas valve spring, gas valve cap and a sticker.
Pilot orifice for propane has smaller bore than of natural.
Burner orifice for propane has also smaller bore than of natural burner orifice (one for each burner).
You will be able to find these parts on the list of Pitco Distributor when you visit

I have a Pitco 35C+S deep fryer that is currently natural gas and I want to switch it propane. What do I need to do that? Thanks

You have to switch the orfices out to smaller ones for LP Gas. We can order the parts for you, if you need a parts order. Call Ray at 888-542-5959 with any questions, parts order, and pricing. We are Restaurant Equipment Outlet, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and parts orders ship in 1-2 days... Thanks, Susan REO

After we used our fryer last time, there was a soot build up on our exhaust. Just tested it again, and it seems to be running really hot. Do we need a new thermostat? How much is a thermostat?

Soot is formed when fuel combustion is incomplete. Check if the gas pressure is sufficient and of correct type (natural or propane gas). Thermostat can be checked by observing if the burner flame goes off when the oil temperature reached the thermostat setting. Price can be checked at pitco website on

What is the cost involved to change from gas to propane on a deep fryer

I'm not sure how much will it cost to convert a fryer from propane to natural gas but you will be needing a conversion kit in doing this. Try to visit pitco website at and look for the nearest distributor on your area.
