Factory reset from CD

Click the "Start" menu on your computer and choose "Accessories." Click "System Tools" and choose "Back up" from the list. This process will back up any files on your computer that you wish. When you reset your HP to its default settings, all documents, programs and other files on your computer will be lost. Back up anything you may need later. Follow the on-screen instructions to move through the back-up wizard. When given the option "Let me choose what to back up," select all programs or documents you want to save. If you're unsure whether you'll need it, back it up just in case. Insert a blank CD or DVD to save your files. Choose your CD drive from the "Back up location" option in the backup wizard. Keep multiple blank CDs or DVDs on hand. You'll need a lot of space, and typically several CD's, to back up all your information. Click "Finish" at the end of the back-up wizard and it will begin to burn information to the CD or DVD. When prompted, remove the CD and insert a new one. Continue until the computer is done backing up your information. Label each CD or DVD in the order you burn it. This way you can transfer your information back into the computer in the order you saved it. Check your CDs or DVDs to make sure the back up was complete by opening a file from the CD. Exit any open programs. You are now ready to start the restoration process. Click the "Start" menu, "All Programs," "System Recovery," and choose "PC Recovery." Choose "PC Recovery" again once the menu opens and click "Next." Your computer will restart automatically. When it turns back on, a welcome message for the PC Recovery software will display on screen. Click "OK." Select the "System Recovery" option to restore the computer to its default settings. Follow any on-screen instructions and wait for the computer to finish resetting your settings to the default. Insert your first back-up CD or DVD to start reinstalling your programs after boot-up. Open the files and save them to the computer. After you've saved everything from the first CD, continue on with the rest. Hope this helps.

CD/DVD burner in Compaq Presario 5010NX w/ VistaBasic Reads and any DVD but has problems with CD's. If I load a music CD, sometimes it will open right up and I can play the music. Most times it just...

Microsoft updates may not have the driver you are looking when it is searching for drivers. When you are in the device manager make a quick note to the name of the device and go to
and see if you can match the device to the driver for your pc. If you are able to find the correct driver and install it and still receive the same results then the drive itself may have a problem.

How do i use my recovery disk? i put disk 1 in and then restarted the computer ad nothing happened.

Before you try to restore the computer with CD, I would advise to try to restore through partion you can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Altgr" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Altgr+f10 or Alt+F10 (try both), it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

If the above steps fails, then try with Recovery CD. to do so, insert the System Disk (CD1), turn Off the computer, now as soon as you turn ON the computer keepon tapping F12, it will give an option for CD/DVDROM, select CD/DVD ROM or USB DVDROM and follow the onscreen instructions.

Thanks and regards,

Cd not recording

Be sure to "finalize" the recorded cd before use in another cd player. Another thing is there are always a few bad discs in a spindle of blank discs... And sometimes you will get "check disc" or "bad disc" when a blank disc is inserted. I would be sure to use blank discs for audio use, not computer use, with your Yamaha.

Wont read any disk

The reason is because there is a lazer inside your xbox that read's the CD's it is weak and or has dust on it. I have the same problem what I normaly do it open the driver and blow into it acupple of times then close the driver with no CD in it, open it back up insert CD and close. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt its the luck of the draw. If you dont feel like putting up with it you could always send it into xbox :/ PAIN!!

How do I eject my cd from my studio computer?

Assuming the normal eject button isn't working....

Shut the computer down. Do not just re-boot. Wait at least two minutes, then start the machine again. After it re-boots, try ejecting the CD again with the eject button.

If still no luck, look for a small hole in the CD drive front cover. Open a paper clip and insert it into the hole carefully. This should permit the CD door to open.

This problem can sometimes be caused by a bad CD and in other cases, a corrupt CD driver. If it keeps happening, try re-installing the drivers for the drive. The last resort would be a bad CD/DVD drive.

Does not boot up

Probably a virus, or your windows folder got corrupted. Try to use Knoppix (A linux distrobution that boots from a CD) to get all your data onto a pen drive or external hard drive. Download the Knoppix ISO at and burn it onto a CD or DVD using MagicISO ( Insert the CD, and you should see the boot screen. Open the file manager, and copy all the files you want to keep from your hard drive to a pen drive or external hard drive. Then, reinstall Windows using a recovery CD (one might have come with your computer). Copy the files back
